Question About Tolerance

I've been smoking on and off for exactly 2 years. Mostly on, but I remember some weeks were just not working out when I first got in the game.

This past year I've smoked nearly every day. Near Thanksgiving, I started to realize that weed wasn't as fun anymore. I vowed to quit for a month until my 18th birthday. I'm a sucker for friend pressure and caved after a week. Got stoned as fuckkkkk. Now I haven't smoked for the past 3 days for the same reason, to go crazy and get high as shit next week during graduation.

I knew and know what tolerance is, but I have a complex question. In your experience, would the high when smoking after quitting for only 4 or 5 days be near the same quality as smoking after say, a 2 week break?

Also, does the tolerance level go back up to your stoner stage when you smoke for the second time after quitting, or is the high better than it would have been if you never quit at all?

I realize tolerance varies from person to person, but in general terms.. what seems to be the case?

For me, 2 weeks has a small difference, but in the end it's not much. Personally, if you're just breaking to get a real good high again, I'd say go for 4 days or so and smoke again. And also from my experience, when I take a break and smoke the first time, the following times are still somewhat better than is normal with lots of tolerance. I've found after a week or two (depending on how much I'm smoking) my tolerance will go back to normal levels. Hope that helps.

some people say that tolerance doesn't even exists its jsut a mindset thing, but im a super light weight i just got high off of like .3 after i tried the microwave method....anyways im my opinion i think you would get higher the longer the break....:thumbsup:

yeah tolerance is just a gradual buildup, always. uh, everyday smoker ur tolerance should be down in 2 weeks or so.

dont ever expect taking a break to be as good as your first high though...

One thing I have found is that, no matter how long you stop smoking, you will never get that same feeling you did when you first started. You might get rid of the physical tolerance but the mental tolerance will still exist.

When we first start smoking most of us have that crazy, super high, laughing, tripping out type of high. My theory is that a big part of that is just the fact that it is such a new sensation for us. As we continue smoking we build up a physical tolerance but we also build up a mental tolerance. We just get used to it and the novelty of that "yipee I'm soo high" feeling goes away.

I came up with this theory based on my own experience. I started smoking 25 years ago and smoked several times a day, every day for years and years. I definitely built up a tolerance and found that smoking just wasn't the same as it used to be. Then I stopped completely for about 5 years. When I started again I got high as hell, but still didn't have that same feeling as I did when I first started long ago. My body had lost it's tolerance but my memory still existed so I didn't have that new sensation feeling again.

hm strange the more i smoke the better it feels its been about 4 years now and the first blunt hits i took didnt do anything to me at all and it seems the more i smoke the better and better it feels. however..i do have to smoke a lil bit more than i used to but nothing that big really tolerance is def something that widly varies from person to person

Oh man are you serious? Damn Im pretty disappointed from this!! So no matter how long you take a break from smoking weed, the high will never be the same as it was the first time you smoked weed? :(

eh? i thought this was more or less common knowledge, altho i suppose if you've only recently begun smoking you might not know it. it is indeed a shame tho :(

i think its more drugs in general. once you get used to the feeling of being high on somthing, it will never be as good as the first time.

i stopped smoking for about 4-5 months, because my parents always threatned that they were gonna drug test me, one day i just said fuck it,
and I smoked some schwag with my friends before school started, OH MAN WAS I SOARING, even had to do a speech in 2 hrs.

4 days, all it takes.

fuck, i loved the giggles

i find takeing a break for an entire week, aswell as drinking a ton of water, gets your tolerance back to where it started

I took a month and a half break, when I came back, I wanted to take a single hit out of my bowl for experimentation reasons, I got completely baked off of that one hit, and didn't smoke again for an hour.
