buy a table with 6 inch net pots and make/buy a 30 gallon resevoir, this will alow you to grow 6 plants at once, use advanced nutrients and regular pebles (hydro pebles, not rocks from outside) 5 gallons per plant is what you need for optimal results

If you want to learn a lot... build your own system.. there is a huge chance that all your lants will die.. but.... but you will learn sooooooooooooo much... building your own system is the best way to learn all the do's and don'ts...
on the other hand I would recomend an aquamist system.. very easy to use..

My self purchased a 4 bucket drip hydro system. In the reservoir I have 40 liters of water and have been using advanced nutrients 2 part veg formula with VitaMaxplus added also. I have to check the ph and PPM a couple of times a day as lost 2 plants at the beginning because by the end of week water getting to toxic. With the PPm meter am able to keep it stable and know when to add food or water. I change the water reservoir once a week and when doing this just have water for the first day to flush any salt build out. THE BEST INVESTMENT WAS THE ppm Meter.
Below Pics after week 4 weeks veg and have done one topping and took my next geration off.

I have found building a grow set up better, but if thats not an option i would suggest one in which you can move the light down to plant and up as it grows. And this Im no expert on but i always thought it a good idea to run fluro tubes down the sides of the chamber to get penetration through to the bottom
