I have always wondered...if a breeder says a plant takes say 50 days to harvest...does day one start when the 12/12 is started or when the first flowers appear?

any1?
I count day one as the first full day of 12/12. ;)
thanks weedhound...i really needed to know that cuz i'm new to the scene and never have used breeder's seeds...always used bagseed...so i want to try and be as precise as possible even tho they are just nirvana...gotta b better than bagseed...like the couch-lock effect so i'll lean towards the later estimates on the bloom dates...thanks:)
np....waiting a week or two WILL make a big difference....hard as it is to wait. ;) :D
pocket scope to check trichomes :thumbsup:Quote:

I think you're generally supposed to start counting once the plant starts showing preflowers. Also, those numbers are an estimate. Like Markass said, just get a pocket scope and check the trichomes.
ok, so thats 1 vote for the beginning of 12/12 and 1 vote for preflowers...any1 wanna break the tie?
still wondering: does day 1 of flowering begin at start of 12/12 or start at first sign of flowers...thanks
Day 1 doesn't mean shit. You can go 7 weeks with one set of seeds, and 8 on another of the 'same' strain. And some sativas take 10 -12 to finish. I've got a Columinan that took 3 weeks of 12-12 and then another 2 weeks of 10/14 yes that's 10 hours of light... before SHE showed. Go fucking figure. Just grow and take markass' advice which always works. You gotta check your plants towards the end, and when you think that your there... check again...
sorry i cant be of more help, but i dont even count the days, just a close guess. when they are ready to your preference then harvest.
