Prom is coming up!

Prom is Saturday (2 days from now exactly), and I am trying to learn some new dance moves to:

A) Impress my date and show up my best friend.
B) Not look like a stupid idiot like I did at homecoming (Had a leg cramp from hiking and a bruised chest from my ex kicking my ass (We used to hang out even after we broke up by me going to her private fighting lessons. We had a short match and she kicked me in the chest :/ )
C) Repeat of A and B
D) Because I like to feel confident

My strategy?
Dancing everywhere I go! In my car, in my room, at the computer, in the shower. The hardest part is I used to liquid dance in my rave days so my R&B dancing looks like (tango x liquid) / Freehand Glowsticking. It is a weird mix. Anyways, anyone got any tips? I listen to trance/techno/random stuff, not alot of rap. The only rap I have is Jay-Z and Bone Thugz (lots of bone thugz!).

I downloaded a couple songs that I have heard of, here is the list:

Make it Rain
You and that Booty
We Fly High

Does anyone know what other songs are probably going to be played at the prom (Kinda rich school, Prom is in the new Arizona Univeristy of Phoenix Stadium somewhere in the top, 10/1900 students are black, 100/1900 are mexican).

My favorite online video is the Michael Jackson 1983 (?) Thriller video. I watch it about twice a week and I love the moves.

Na, I'm a good dancer but I think I just had a bad experience because I was in so much pain I could only dance for 10 minutes before having to sit down. I danced prom night away last year but I am just so nervous since it is my "senior prom."

I used to dance in my classes last year randomly. Sometimes I would just feel like dancing so I would convince a girl that nobody would be watching then just start dancing. I was also really high when I wrote this. If all else fails I can just start liquid dancing in an all black tux, I don't think I can break dance in it though lol (I only know the basic moves, working on the flare).

I actually probably can't dance when I'm drunk either, but I'm to drunk at that point to know or care.

I once had about 30 people in a bar laughing at me because I was dry humping my friends sister on the dance floor.

I was in my own little world and just kept pelvic thrusting at her ass... Not sure exactly what was going through my head. Thankfully she was cool and found the humor in it.

I dance like a white guy though. I remember there was this black chick in the club one night who kept wanting to dance with me. I think she was enjoying how awkward I was. She was all over the place and I was just like, "Your not getting much more than this out of me."

I lean from side to side.

My advice, just slow dance, or get to drunk to where you don't care what you look like.

Proms are fun. A dance, an after party, and a good chance at getting laid. Sounds like a good time to me.

I hate dancing so much, I find it so wierd. And I don't mean the kind of dancing you do at a concert, thats normal you just kind of sway fast or slow w/e to the music ... but at proms I find the dancing so wierd, some people have some crazy ass moves, it's awsome some people can do that shit, it's just not my thing really.


I love watching people dance when im extra baked (especially if they look stupid) it cracks me up like nothing else.

Well last night I got really high, busted out the glow sticks and started dancing to "Rock Your Body, Rock" by Ferry Corsten. I then remembered about this song "Claps" by DJ Shaw. It is a funny song so I started dancing and laughing and dancing and laughing then I realized I just danced for 50 minutes on my bathroom tile doing everything from glow sticking to C-Walking (Can only do the V thing and alternates of it, mostly from learning the Tauren dance from WoW).

I realized that I never lost my dance skills, they were just suppressed and forced downwards so much I forgot. Then after a couple HUGE (I take 10-12 seconds in, hold 20, then exhale) vape hits. So I was really stoned because I just vaped like .5g of nice cannabis then I just felt the music. It reminded me when I used to feel the music doing E at raves. Then before I knew it, it all came back and I was dancing pretty good. I need to work on my glowstringing more because I hit myself hard like 10 times trying to do an orbital behind my back.


So prom disaster avoided due to getting REALLY high and a little help from Ferry Corsten+ other DJs and such. I listen to so much trance and techno my heart is on a 4/4 beat! Boo yah!

I'll still have to check out the videos on youtube and also no sex at prom, especially with my date. I would cut the throat of the man who sleeps with her (she is dead set on waiting until marriage). I also decided I am waiting until I fall in love to have sex after one day I was coming down from E looking at this girl I just screwed around with for the past 2 hours (no sex but everything else, start at the top and hit everything on the way down was our plan lol). So sitting there, looking at her and thinking, is this really what I want sex to be about? I want it to be about love not a drug induced sex trance as much fun as a drug induced sex trance is.

I ALSO GOT MY TOP BRACES OFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! Bottom ones need another 3 weeks but you can't see em when I smile! So happy!

I looked good! I was dancing infront of the mirror in a towel this morning sober and I was doing good. I need to work on my liquid moves where I move my shoulders because all my new shoulder muscle is tightening em up! (Training for this summer's summiting of some class 3/4 mountains)

I'm leaving for a friends house to get ready for prom right now! My friends all want to smoke cigars after so I picked up a few Romeo and Juliets then I called my dealer and told him I want a $30 blunt that will impress the best. Now all I have to do is pick up this really nice blunt with SAGE in it! Oh god I'm excited, for prom and to smoke some SAGE he got out of his personal stash :D :D :D

Last night definitely ranked on my top 5 nights of all time! Here is why:

A) Hot date. Oh... My.... GoD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow...
B) Finding out that all my dancing nervousness was for no damn reason... look below
C) Partying till 6am
D) Winning part of the dance competition I didn't know was going on.
E) All the fun things when partying
F) dancing with more people than I can remember
G) My date... If I could take Jessica Simpson to prom, I would still of asked the girl I did.

They didn't announce it, but a few teacher chaperons were judging how everyone was dancing, Solo (where everyone moves out of the way and a circle develops, best person in there), couple, group, overall best dancer. They announced it at the end of the night and I ended up winning the overall best dancer and was part of the group that won too. When waiting around for everyone to show up for pictures at my friend and we were C-walking jokingly and it came back better than I remember. By the way, some kid busted out some amazing breakdancing, doing flares, a really cool 6-step variation, and a nice flip thing, he totally won the solo.

I requested "Rock Your Body, Rock" about 20 minutes into prom and totally busted out into a liquid/popping/random dance in the center of the dancer floor and shocked everyone. I never really told anyone other than my close friends about my rave days so I busted out a crappy circle glide and started dancing. Before I knew it the song was over and everyone was like "WTF... Where did that come from?" I just said I saw it on the internet lol. I actually ripped this guy off (Youtube video)on a couple of his moves that most likely scored big points (1:30-1:34, 2:43-2:54ish(footwork)), then a couple moves from good ol' Hyun Joon lol.

So awsome night, safe, no problems.

I forgot to mention that today my muscles are sore, I don't have a voice, I got 3 hours of sleep and I have a pretty bad hangover lol. I sure had alot of fun though. *dies off in the corner now*

i didnt go to prom either. its so superficial. and i certainly don't regret it. i didn't miss anything. i went camping instead. but i did buy myself a new dress just because....

With a crazy signature like yours, I'm not surprised lol. I loved my two proms I went to even though they are mostly aesthetic. I have been tanning everyday I must admit. I am not ashamed of my tanning, my using Crest White Strips, my paying $140 to rent a tux for one night, or working out so I could get amazing, superfluous abs. I had such a great time, my teeth looked great, I got plenty of comments on my tan, and I was dubbed "Best Male Stripper Ever." at the after party.

What I am trying to say is I have no shame knowing and admitting that a lot of my actions sources are aesthetic.

I drank more Junior year than any year. Junior year and then my going into senior year summer were the top of my drinking/hooking-up days. I quit hooking up after I became a sex-addict (no sex but everything else) and now I haven't hooked up in a long time, personal choice though.

But last night my date/2nd best friend/dance student (I have to teach her how to dance now lol... how ironic, 180 turn of a post this is) got drunk for the first time. If you add first time drinking, best friend no hookup policy (made it after we stopped dating), and the fact that her parents were going to barely let her spend the night, I decided that hooking up was a no-go.

Grads on the bagging your friends date lol. Once my best friend and I went on a double blind date (first and last blind date so far) that we were each setup with, then we ended up switching girls after about 10 minutes lol. Cool thing was we both dated them for a whole 2 weeks! lol

I didn't go to my prom. Biiiiiiiig waste of money to go out dancing with all the kids who made my high school experience a living hell. I just stayed home and smoked pot, and I had a blast. :rastasmoke:

Maybe your situation is different. Maybe there are kids in your school who aren't total pricks to you. But it still looks like a date that's way too expensive. I'd rather buy a big sack of ganj and get retarded with my date until we couldn't stay awake any more, but that's just me.

Good for you man, there's not many proms in england but we go to clubs... they're not really my scene, unless i'm with my girl or stoned and ravin out to drum n bass at fabric.

In the USA every school has a prom. Some schools only allow seniors but most (98% or so) allow juniors and seniors, just a little info on our proms.

Luckily our school puts on the best events, that includes the best proms. Last year I planned prom with my 4 best friends and 5 girls. We had it in the top floor of the tallest building in Phoenix, Arizona and the department got like 30 calls saying the building was on fire but it was actually our lights lol. Best prom in the valley one newspaper said. I'm just a big fan of prom because prom '06 and prom '07 are 2 of my top 5 nights of all time.

Wear a walkman and listen to some hardcore punk and start your own mosh pit.

My senior prom was at Six Flags New Orleans. There was one roller coaster opened to us and the Ferris Wheel. Than afterwards we went to the school gym where they had sumo wrestling and those kinds of games, plus did drawings for a car, some big screen tvs, comp's, and other things that may come in handy in college or in a new apartment. I enjoyed it, except I didn't win any of the good prizes...:chainsaw:

That's cool man, I went to a few dances when i lived in the states, they weren't proms though coz i only lived there in 8th and 9th grade. I lived in Ocean City New Jersey and it was awesome, a great place to live and the people i met there were amazing. I go back there like every year and live with my friend. He's a senior this year so i dunno if he's gone to his prom or not yet.

We have a thing called "Grad Night Live" which is based on the same idea of having a safe place for kids to go after graduation. They raffle off thigns like computers and TVs. It goes until like 2am so you can go there for the whole night, and since almost all the seniors go, it is alot of fun. It is weird to think that a school party would be so much fun, but it is. Graduation May 25th!
