Farewell to my bestfriend

Sad day today. My best friend decided he had no other choice in life than to join the army. Then on top of it he tries to recruit me telling me i can either do manuel labor for the rest of my life (I am a grader for an asphalt company) or I can make something of my life and join the army with him. First off he is my best friend who has been there with me through thick and thin and I would do anything for him. Even when a piece of shit cop busted him for weed and that happened to be the same cop that was at an underage drinking party with me and him doing beer bongs and acting like he was the man (The cop was our friends sisters boyfriend so he was allowing it to go on). So my best friend decides to go tell the chief of police(small town) and tells him about everything and that i would vouch for him. Well i did cuase he is my best friend. We had to take lie detectors and everything to prove we werent lieing. So i lost my friendship with the friend who had the party and not to mention i get harrased hardcore from the cops in my town now. Anyways back to the main point FUCK THE GOVERNMENT, FUCK THIS WAR, FUCK WHOEVER BRAINWASHED MY BESTFRIEND, AND FUCK RECRUITERS WHOS WHOLE LIFES ARE LIES! O yeah and most of all FUCK GEORGE W. BUSH. Has anybody else had this happen to them with someone close to them? p

Tell him to join the Air Force,no real work and his chances of dieing in Iraq are minimul compared to being the ARMY. A friend of mine and i got into a service bashing arguement,im prior ARMY,he is AF. When the death tolls were looked up it was something like 35 AF personal dead as opposed to 1800 army personal. Not the best way to look at the situation but atleast there is some kind of feeling of saftey. When i was in,i was working 15+ hour days most of my 4 years,while AF were shift workers. Little PT if any,air conditioning and TV in the desert were big parts of the arguement. Tell him to go AF,still cant smoke weed,though i have known a few who burn w/me occasionally since i have been out. If i had it to do again,i would have went AF,i would probably still be in. Its the candy land of the services no real labor,no real PT,its a cake walk,hell the coast guard does more work.

Your friend has until the day he leaves to back out of it. You are not "bound" by that contract till the day you actually arrive at your basic training base. Tellhim to go AF bro,trust me he will have a better life. Not to mention the women in the army on average are used up skanks. AF women are hot,on average,its the hard days work that keeps the army women ulgy.

I agree with fishman. I also, having been in the Army, would recommend the Air Force. The only way they would get killed is if a stray mortar round ended up in their tent. I have a friend who's son is being trained to go to Iraq and even though he's in the A.F., she's worried sick. I try and tell her his odds are extremely good, but of course that doesn't console her very much. If those Devils, Bush and Cheney, only knew how much pain and anguish they have caused in the world,........ But they wouldn't care anyway. I sincerely hope that if there is a God, He will severely punish those that are responsible for this war, and that includes all the CEOs that are getting Fat off of it.

i was in the military, and you should be VERY proud of your friend. the military is a very honorable choice.

That's pretty rough .... how much does your friend know about the illegal war? I know the economy suck for many, but there should have been another way ..... most states have job services that help people look for work .... I've gotten my best jobs through the state service .... and it's free .... I would tell your friend to check into that.

They are not going to pay him nearly enough to put his life on the line for oil. Has he heard about Walter Reed? Or how the wounded and disable veterans are treated? Or how soldiers are redeployed to Iraq or Afghanistan over and over? Has he ever exprience seeing gorey deaths? Or the smell of rotting burning flesh? Does he know what's it's like not to know who the enemy is? To have to kill women and children? Has he ever had to watch a good friend get his or her head blown off? Does he know that even though he is signing up for what ..... 4- 6 years the military doesn't have to honor their part of the contract and can keep him from getting out when his contract is up? He should really look into that.

Check out the job service for that state .... it beat the hell out of killing and/or dying for oil. Or join the AF or Navy .... stay away from the Army.:hippy:
