Are trying to breed these guys???
yes, i may even start an online pet store. lotsa $$ in these little guys; 50-800$ depending on color and morph...
Hey,,, much success... They all look nice and healthy...
here's more pix of the crested lair...
Hey that's a very nice set-up for the little guys. What does an animal like that eat......or should I ask?
I like your choice in branches they come together nicely,,,is that Wisteria???
jeez Skink I hope you're joking.....i'm going to faint if you can simply look at some branches in a photo and say wisteria...:p
weed, they eat a combination of fruit baby food and crickets. crickets have to be supplemented with calcium, which is easily done with a paper cup and gecko dust. these guys are extremely easy to care for, i feed 5 days a week, 3 days baby food, 2 days crickets, 5 per gecko. they thrive at room temp which means heat lamps and mats are unnecessary. and they change colors and patterns twice a day. very cool :D
skink, i see how it looks like wysteria, but no, it's local mountain laurel. good stuff, it's stretchy, and naturally grows all twisted and deformed. i don't even clean the branches, i just replace them once a month. i'll take new pieces, and have my brother cut them to size, and treat with bleach water to kill any disease or bacteria. then, after letting it sit and dry for a day, i arange a new branch set up in the cage. the food dish is behind the stump. the bowls and stump are the only thing that always stay, the stump bieng his den. this keeps him happy and stress free, and he doesn't mind the branch change; as a matter of fact, i think he enjoys it. they are nocturnal, and i replace branches in the day. when i do, he wakes up, and climbs to the top of the stum, and watches. soon as i'm done, he's all over the new stuff.
what a weirdo, huh? :p
Wow i'm impressed that you know so much about them. Where did you get your interest in these little guys? That's quite the menu for them.....guess they don't make a gecko chow.
You do alot of work to take of the little creatures.....kudos to you Scarlet. I love people who go the extra mile for their pets.
they do make a gecko diet, but they don't like it. they eat it only if no other food has been introduced in a few weeks.
when i got my male, he was smaller than my little finger. i saw him at a flea market and it was love at first sight. he looked like a baby dragon :p
as with all things i care for, i make sure to do my homework, to be able to care for them in the best way. a healthy pet is a happy pet :)
well, looks like i'm getting four girls... a friend went in with me, and we got two more, he's taking one, leaving me four...
here's pix of all five...
nice, im sure your male gecko will love you for gettin him laid:thumbsup:
lol, that's why i decided on several females. a male can be...quite persistant. a lone female will be stressed by his urges, and eventually die. two or more are required in order to house them together; split the abuse, so to speak... :p
Hahaha, that's classic, You're like the Lizard Pimp!!!Quote:

hey sky they all look awesome, iv really wanted to get a lizard lately and those seem great cus of the room temp so wont have to spend alot of cash for lighting and stuff, just 1 question do those bite much or can u take them out and play with them and let them chill in your room and stuff?
lol, swed, they are incredibly easy to care for. the care sheets say what they say, but if you think about the wild, you know they don't need the special pampering.
mine have gone through cold temps, hot temps, near starvation due to lack of crickets... they're reptiles, they're very hardy.
sefi, i had one that was a biter upon delivery, but settled down within a few days. it doesn't hurt, but they're fast when they're small. i have managed to calm mine and i take them out daily.
