HPS?

Ok well i have a GE Lucalox High Pressure Sodium Light bulb that ive been told burn at 22k my question is what ether light would be needed to complete the full spectrum i?

i have little to know knowlege on light bulbs, so any advice will be key

2200 Kelvin ? Is that the question? If so, use for flower. To Veg you want 6500-6700 Kelvin. Veggin under HPS will make ya plants stretch. I swear by T-5's for veg. Can damn near put on top of plants and dont need to worry about frying them. HID lighting for Veg is a waste of electricity in my book. But, you grow yer way, I grow mine.

yo, i use 't-5's' for 2 weeks at start then i switch to hps 18/6 for another 2-2 1/2 b4 flower. works 4 me :microwave:

I'm using t8s for my veg, always used MH before. Def the way to go, low electric use and no heat plus what bonger said there touching my bulbs and there fine.

well i have 2 13 watt t-5 would this be enough or to start off 6 plant...n if it isnt would turning on hp n tunning the t-5 close to the plant show the same result insted of adding more t-5

13 watt, are they foot longers or what ? 6 plants under 26 watts would be fine while they are babies. Keep within one to one and half inches of top of plants. Dont fire off that HPS and bake them while they are babies. Keep plants within a 1' square footprint under the T5's. Oh, and get a fan blowing gently on them so the stems thicken up. You do not need hurricane force, just a gentle breeze.

i didn't want to make a new thread so i am going to post my new question here, how many plants with a 70 watt hps flower? it says it giving off 6'900

70watt hps can flower a single plant, maybe 2 if theyt are very small and clones at that, i use 2 150watt hps with 6 plants no problem at all.

i dont understand how can people flower with cfl....it would take 6, 1k lumas (spelling?) to equal one hps.....n i see people flower 4-5 plant with though.....soo shouldnt i be able to flower 4-5 with a 70wat hps?

thats because people are greedy and flower more plants than the lights can handle, 2 plants max and flower at 2 weeks

that's really anemic. i was only going to flower two under a 250w hps, maybe three

250w hps gives 29000 lumens

anemic what does that mean, the definition i got wat, The condition of having less than the normal number of red blood cells or less than the normal quantity of hemoglobin in the blood. The oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood is, therefore, decreased....

2k lumens is enough? where are you getting this? the 250w hps will have 29k lumens, and around here that would be considered pretty light (light as in "not heavy")

anyway, just know what you're getting into, and what you want to get out. hell, you can grow some weed under a single 26w cfl. it won't die. you'll get a couple bong rips from it :)

really, though, you're numbers are out there me-thinks. and it's not so much a question of whether you flower 2 or 8 plants under a 250w hps, it depends on how you grow them, and how big you're growing them (how much you let them veg first)

do you want to top? lst? scrog? sog? etc. etc.

let's put it this way: i had to fight folks here for them to let me get anything below 400w hps :)


good luck, and screwing up yourself is the best medicine. hell, get some bagseed and a dixie cup, fill it with yard dirt, put it under an incandescent and see what happens ;) learning is what it's all about, and it only happens through experience, which is why you shouldn't listen to anything i say :)

i plant the lst them i am only growin 2 right now but in the futur i would like to have a 4-6 flowering room...
