I think they're trying to make fun of how potheads say they can think more clearly while high. But it's true. If they'd bother to stop bashing weed so much and smoke a joint instead, they'd find that out. Cannabis changes your thought patterns, and new thought patterns can lead to increased insight into issues that you've only thought about in one way before. It won't give you "all the answers", but it will give you an interesting new perspective, and that can be enlightening. They're under the influence of the meme which says all altered states of consciousness can only lead to inferior ideas than ideas formed while sober. It's up to us to follow in the footsteps of genius potheads like Carl Sagan, Richard Feynman and Stephen Jay Gould, and prove these people wrong.
