I've realized that I like trying out new smoking methods and I haven't tried out the lung so far.
It's fairly easy to make one, in fact, I just made one from a 500ml Naya water bottle and a medium sized Ziplock bag.
I'd like to know the following:
1. How efficient are they compared to a bong or GB?
2. Do they leave a strong smell? Comparable to a joint? Bong?
3. Your experiences with lungs.

i would imagine they get you pretty fucked.
i've only smoked out of a bong (from the 3 choices), but i mean, they all give massive hits. i'd say the heirarchy of how fucked up they get you goes something like:
GB>Lung>Bong
unless you're an experienced bong toker, that is. i know some people who can take a hit that's twice as big as that of a 3-liter GB hit.
as for the smell...i'm thinking they'd be somewhere between a joint and a bong, depending on whether or not you try to cover it up.
im my experiences, i've found that a scented candle paired up with incense and a doob tube cover up pretty much all weed smell (unless it's a joint/blunt. just take it outside for those, man.)
i've never smoked a lung (yet), but i have a few friends who did a while back, and they were fuckin BLASTED when they called me.

hey man, you know, if you position the top of the bag a little further down the bottle, you can get a MUCH bigger hit...

The ghetto-est piece I use and have ever used is a Sobe waterfall, using a bowl I bought from one of the many many nearby headshops. All glass, no plastic or rubber or glue or anything to poison me. :D
Looking at that thing though, you're not gonna be able to get a lot of smoke into that thing, and once you do, you won't be able to easily get all the smoke back out without a carb of some sort. It's definitely worth it just to make a waterfall out of a Sobe bottle or something.
dude...lungs don't need carbs. the bag going back in with the inhalation smoke pretty much clears it out all by itself.Quote:

It'll only clear itself if the bag is able to completely contour to the bottle's shape. The way he has it now, it looks like the bag won't be completely sucked in when he inhales, and so it's possible that smoke would be left over.
Waiting for the smoke to slowly make its way out the top would be a pain in the ass, and while waiting for it a lot of the smoke could condense and coat the bottle.
If the bag is big enough, yes, he won't have any trouble at all as is. Otherwise, he'll either need a bigger bag or a carb.

That lung is much too small.
We used to use 3/4 of the top half of a 2L pepsi bottle. Same idea, but we used a grocery bag instead.
It simple how they work. When you pull the bag down, the gravitational pull sucks the smoke from the bowl, filling up the upper half of the bottle.
I prefer the G-bong though as it's water cooled. A lung hits pretty hard.
All you need is a nut and a bottle. I have a 3 hitter gravity bong made from a one liter Gatorade bottle. I like lungs though, nice and compact .Quote:

Yeah Lungs can get you pretty stoned if you make them right. But same with a gravity bong. If you want a good Lung then get.. a 2 Liter bottle and cut the end off, and grab a bread bag, Nice n big to give you a fat rip and it will help clear it out since the bags big. Then just add your piece where the cap would normally be and your set with a kick ass Lung.
When I used "The Lung" it was one of the biggest hits I have ever taken.
This is how my friend made it. He took a 2 leter bottle of soda and cut off the last 1/3 from the bottom. Then taped a plastic grocery bad to the end of the cut off bottom. And he made a bowl on the top with the cap and tinfoil. You stuff the plastic bag inside the bottle. Then you lite the weed and slowly pull down on the plastic bag from inside the bottle. By the time u can't pull anymore, the whole bottle is full of smoke. Unscrew the cap, and take that hit. Its pretty nice.
gravity bongs and lungs do basically the same thing but i think gravity bongs do the job better
Gravity bongs, lungs, and waterfalls are all about the same, except with gravity bongs you can also push the bottle back into the water to force the smoke into your lungs faster and harder.
Also, lungs don't work using gravity. When you pull the bag, it causes a pressure drop inside the bottle, and air rushes in to restore the pressure equilibrium. Same thing for waterfalls and gravity bongs, the volume of the water rushing out causes the air pressure inside them to drop, and air rushes in from the bowl, although you could say it's gravity because it's gravity that causes the water to come out in the first place.

Damn, reminds me though, last night tried eating some firecrackers from my first attempt at baking yesterday with a few friends, used some dank NY diesel. Waited an hour, didn't feel a thing, so I took a huuuge hit off a Sobe waterfall with a big bowl of haze, and right when I did the crackers kicked in. Worst bad high of my life, I got soooooo fucked up. Enough to make me stay away from waterfalls for now and stick to my trusty pipe.
