How much time or how many smoke sessions happen before you clean your piece?
I am asking because I picked up a new glass piece and I wanna know how long I should wait before I clean/scrape the resin off it?
I'm still debating on weather or not to smoke the resin.
I usually let my pipes go quite a long time. I try and clean my bong once a month. And I mean a top to bottom cleaning. But there are a lot of variables. It does change.
When I smoked very heavily, I would let it go months, I bought my pipe in September, and it had seen ounces of pot. I finally cleaned it sometime in December, and bought it partly resinated. So I would say 4-6 months, only because I like smoking a lot of resin at a time, rather than cleaning every few weeks.
I clean it either when I'm smoking with someone and want to make a good impression (nothing says professional like a clean piece), or when it gets hard to smoke out of. the other day I smoked my pipe empty and got high :)!
I figure its personal prefrence, but I always smoke the resin, it might be a little dirty, but it will get you high! I try to smoke my rez ball out of a bong or bubbler though, it makes a world of difference in terms of clean smoke feeling.
my other favorite thing to do is to pack a bowl, place a resin ball on top of it, and then sprinkle a dash of kif on it for a THC Sundae.
i clean my glass peices every time i use them, get 420 cleaner at your local smoke shop.. its works really good

I hate cleaning my pipes so much. I always make such a mess, so yeah, I'm guessing once every 3 months I clean them all. Not often at all.
i clean them every week or two. i like a clean pipe..sometimes i smoke the resin, nasty but gets you really fucked up
do y'all even clean your color changing peices every time you use them to? I clean mine when i can no longer smoke out of it.
I usually scrape/smoke after a day or two of being dry.
usually end up getting it out the day after i run out of bud....
i usually clean mine when i can't get any air through it anymore. totally clogged :D
yea i hate cleaning my peices ive had a bong for 2 years and its never been cleaned i just keep poking a hole in the male steam peace and i think resined up pipes hit better then clean ones but they stink alot more...

When my hits stop tasting fresh or when I can't see the smoke build up in my pipe I clean it.
I use to own a nice bubbler. I cleaned it about twice a day with salt and rubbing alcohol. It tastes best that way. This obviously means you give up any resin collection, unless you wanna get real messy. Its possible to use the resin in the alcohol, but a dirty job.
But yea, I use to keep my shit as clean as the day I bought it. Been a while since I had a pipe worth doing that for. Been just as long since I smoked.

Def every time I switch bud types. It's great to get that nice smooth hit of some new herb

well i scrape it when im desperate, if i run out of bud and know ill have some soon, then i scrape it that very day and blaze the resin, always blaze the rezin... it keeps you motivated! its not the best tasting... its not even that good for you... but hey i figure if i blaze an average of 1 resin bowl every 3-5 months or so and 1-3 bowls almost every day.... big ratio...
anyway :D if i run out of bud and i wont have some for a while... i will wait about a week or two before i scrape it...
i dont smoke resin and i like my pipe bein clean so i scrape it pretty often. maybe like every 15 bowls. its usually more of a clean then scrape cuz i dont like the resin buildup

with me i let my pipe go untill i cant hit it any more then a scrpe a lil bit just to make it hit the reason i like to keep my piece full of rez is cuz if you dont got no puffen you can always go back and scape it and then smoke that its a harsher hit and might give your lungs a herting but it gets you high
Smoking Rez is disgusting. It's all the stuff you dont want to be smoking, all the tar, and stuff that will really fuck your lungs up - look at it! That's what coating your damn lungs - and because it's been subject to the heat from the weed buring allmost ALL the THC has been vaped away - i belive it's just a placebo.
I can understand if you dry you wanna have a toke, but damn, not that shit! Save some kief and make a little hash - that'll get you higher than rez and it wont be as bad for you.
Fuck that res. I've done that once and will never do it again.
Go buy a fuckin light and grow your own stash.
I clean my bongs A LOT. They get a lot of use, atleast twice daily, so they can get pretty disgusting. A big problem I have is a lot of resin, or basically brown shit, builds up on my stem and on the inside of the bong and it tastes like shit after a while. I'll usually smoke out of it 5 times before it starts to get gross, and I spend 5-10 minutes scrubbing everything down with hot water & Goo Gone. :thumbsup:
My pipes don't get as disgusting suprisingly, i'll clean them maybe once a month.
By the way, don't smoke resin! I'd only half consider smoking it out of a bong, and only if I had a lot of it.

I am actually planning on cleaning my bong and new downstem today. Should look nice when i'm done.
After I started reading this thread I cleaned my bowl by smokin the resin, so i guess I clean it when I don't have n e bud:stoned:
Glad to see this thread start back up. I am currently letting my newer glass piece resinate for a while. Normally it has a good clean every few weeks or when it really starts to smell.
I have yet to smoke the resin, but I might have to try it just once now that I am letting my piece res up.
i'd say once or twice a month.....(thats just me tho.....i smoke everyday)
