Usually refers to a small "bit part" done by a formerly famous actor. The show gets the name recognition and the actor gets a chance at reviving his/her career. Like if they did another "Star Trek" movie and hired William Shatner to play Captain Kirk's ancestor or descendant. -Granny:hippy:
