Drugs . Are . Real . Expensive = DARE
Crispi
I always though "DARE" was a retarded acronym for an anti-drug program aimed at kids.
the first thing that always comes to mind is "Hey I Dare you to smoke this... "
"OKAY!"
D.A.R.E.
To resist lies and propaganda
Amen, brother!
a cop from philly told me it stood for Drugs Are Really Excellent
i saw a bumper sticker that said DARE like it normally does, but underneath it said: to think for yourself.
hah! I'm wearing a DARE shirt right now that I got in the 6th grade
The D.A.R.E. program which stands for "drug abuse resistance education" is an old washed up program started in the early 80's as an attempt to thwart children away from drug use by integrating police officers with classroom settings and also with regular teachers trained through the d.a.r.e. program.
Many argue that the program is ineffective and actually counter productive in some areas where members that had graduated the program went on to become heavy drug users anyways.
I never went through DARE in school, so sadly, I never got a t-shirt.
Haha yup i got one i wear sometimes but i mostly use it as a night shirt because its white and well me and white dont get along to well. The funny thing is im actually wearing it right now lol.
me and my friend were high, and a little tipsy, and he put a DARE sticker on his car so the cops would hopefully leave us the f*ck alone
My best friend's old tradition was to wear her DARE shirt (Which she got from me, which I stole from this girl in my gym class).. every friday.
neither did I, I want one now.Quote:

Its kind of olike those red ribbon days we had to have in school. Where you get that gay red ribbon and you wore your shirt nackwards so you could "turn your back to drugs and alcohol"
We have "Red ribbon week" now, some guy died trying to stop drug warfare. blah blah blah, but thats what I have nowQuote:

DARE ended in my school the year before i was supposed to be in it. Our cop was arrested for drugs and he tried to kill his wife in tub....how fucked up is that shit.
I want one.
I have the DARE tiger and a plaque that I got first place for an essay on the potential of marijuana, it was a completely unbiased approach to marijuana, by a fith grader, they never gave me back that fucking essay though[attachment=o127359] I used to have a shirt but I don't think it will fit me anymore
I was given a detention in my health class for contradicting the teacher when she said hundreds of people OD on marijuana every year, this was three years before I started smoking itQuote:

They really only convolute the legitimate access to accurate and up to date information about drugs and other noxious substances, putting they very kids that they're trying to help in serious danger by withholding accurate and reliable information on drugs and other such substances, preferring to assume that ALL kids will "just say no," justifying their refusal to give honest advice about drug use. It's kinda similiar to "abstinence only" sex education, which doesn't reduce the number of sexually active students, but puts them in a disposition where they don't understand the first thing about birth control, and are statistically more likely not to use birth control when they have sex.
In other words, go DARE program! You're just putting more stoners in society to justify your very existance.
If I remember right, there was an article a while back about how the DARE program was being taken out of schools do, like you said, it not workingQuote:

haha. a year ago or so, my friends and I were thinking about other slogans for dare. just making them up, you know. and I was like, "oh! i know! i'll put on the back of it (....because i happened to be wearing a dare shirt that day...) 'drugs are really excellent'!"Quote:
