Stinky and Demeter's Adventures at the Hort Show!!!

Let me just start by saying, you can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think. HA HA!!!

So Demeter and I had the BESTEST time yesterday looking at plants. I know you're online now girliegirl- post away!

The show was sponsored by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society and took place at Bayside Expo center in Boston.

There were 2 major sections; the first and most interesting was a juried display of everything from individual plants, to flower arrangements, to whole landscaping concepts. Fantastic. The other section was basically a shitload of vendors trying to sell greenhouses, dip mixes, chotchkes, and actually a lot of orchid vendors too.

Afterwards, we chilled at her place, very cool, and exactly what you would expect for such a good and serious gardener! Her plants look even BETTER in person, and Mr. Demeter is a GREAT guy who cooks in his brick oven more effortlessly than most folks use their microwaves! Mmmmmm focaccia... with FRESH herbs... *drool*....

I made it back the 2 hours to Western Mass safely despite whiteout conditions along the Blackstone valley and an inch of slush on the highway.

One landscaping installation came complete with exotic fowl... different sorts of peacocks, and a pair of very entertaining black-headed geese.

Awesome pics! The orchids under the LED's and those succulents are dope! I have some cool succulents in my back patio - they grow well in socal. Gardening is good for the soul huh?

I had such a good time with you stinky! It was great smoking a joint with you before the show, looking out on that harbor view! Great pics! Wasn't that guy nice to take our "incognito" pic- and I know the valet guys wanted to be part of our party! Did you get your stuff yet in the mail? Say, if you had lots of money, what would you have gotten at the show? I would have purchased a greenhouse, a ton of orchids, succulents, and some of that dip seasoning I kept pigging out on:D
I just wish you lived closer- I am trying to talk mr d into the ganja party next month! If it is just me, can I camp out on your couch? The haze should be nicely cured by then, and a clone of Artemis (and who knows what else!) would be big enough to travel by car:jointsmile:
