Nobody seems to be talking about all the players that have switched teams recently. What do you guys think of some of them?
It seems like you have Atlanta trading away the only actual quarterback on their ream. The Patriots are reloading! Hell, what do you guys think of all the players getting arrested recently!

the atlanta/texas trade is crazy. atlanta got the better end of the stick though.
whats really crazy is texas giving up on carr. he wasnt the problem, their o-line is. and schaub sure as hell is not a mobile qb. atleast with carr you knew you had a qb that could take a beating.
I totally agree with what you said about Carr. I know they never had a winning season under him but how can he carry the team with no offensive line, no defense, poor WRs and an average RB.
I heard a stat that said Carr was sacked 249 times in his 5 seasons in Houston. That totally took a good 3 years off his career :( I always thought if he was in the right system he could be a pretty good QB.
texans suck, i dont see why they arent trying to greatly improve their o-line, as vince lombari say linemen win game, they have a decent qb, a great young receiver they wouldnt be so bad if they had a good o-line. But personally im excited about the bears pick up, archuleta is a great pick up, now they can focus on offense in the draft, but I'd still love to see them pick up patrick willis, but thats not gonna happen, hes too good to slip that far.
I'm still surprised that the Bears let Thomas Jones go (Former Buccaneer :thumbsup: ) when Cedric Benson hasn't really shown he can start yet.
And yes, the Texans do suck :) Although I'd like to see them at least get 8 or 9 wins in a season.
Anywhere else, I guarantee that guy could be a top-5 QB. The protection from the O-line is non-existant, like running through a piece of paper. I'm glad the Texans released him, now he got a chance to shine somewhere else.Quote:

I hate that the bears let go jones, he was great, and we dont really know what we got in return until the draft, although the bears are great at drafting late in the second round. the pats picked up alot of good players, they're definatly a favority this year same with the ravens, i like lewis better than mcgahee.
I think Lewis has a lot of running left in him. Spending time in jail really seemed to fuck with him but with a new team comes a new start. If the Browns get a QB or move around and take an LT it could be his return to glory :thumbsup: Not to long ago he was one badass running back!Quote:

I'm all for giving Campbell a chance, but it wouldn't be a bad move to acquire an insurance policy, especially a QB who still has a couple of prime years left. Brunell doesn't cut it anymore. He's a smart QB, but in terms of mobility, he's done.Quote:

I don't like the Bills but they are getting cleaned out this offseason! They've lost McGahee, London Fletcher, TKO, and Nate Clements! They are totally going to move that team to LA or Vegas. What are Canadians supposed to do if they want to see NFL action :(

yep the bills are trying to be the shittiest team. if not, it sure seems like it. definitely looks like they want to move.
thats only if they wanted to sign briggs. but you can make whatever deals you want when someone is tagged. its also easy to happen then, as the tag is all base salary, no signing bonus. teams dont take a cap hit for trading a tagged player. we traded champ(and a 2nd rounder) to get clinton portis, when bailey was franchised.Quote:

Probably that dildo Snyder wanting to get a marquee player instead of addressing their obvious weaknesses. Depth at DT and a pass rush. They did go out and get CBs to shore that up. Dumb move letting the veteran Walt Harris go, 8 pics and a Pro Bowl. They could have used him with the injuries in the secondary last year.
did you watch walt harris play when he was here? he was on a modest contract, but didnt even deserve that. was horrible in coverage, didnt create turnovers. if im not mistaken, he was only a nickel back in SF, which means he doesnt have to worry about man coverage as much and could watch the qb's eyes more.Quote:

I disagree with your statement he was horrible. He was a backup with Washington and did a decent job starting when the other CBs were out. After all Washington was a top rated pass defense in 2005 WITHOUT very many sacks. Archuleta is an example of horrible last year if you ask me. Harris had more interceptions by himself, 8, than the Redskins did as a team last year 6.
The way the Washington defense is run you really have to have backup veterans in case the starters go down. They run one of the more complicated defenses. Alot of disguises, ends drop off into coverage, DBs blitzing. When they had their injuries last year the defense became more vanilla. The pass D, one of the best in 2005 was horrible in 2006, while the run D weakened as the season went on.
I dont know what he was asking for salary wise and never imagined he play at the high level he did last year. But, I was hoping he'd stay around as a backup.

ps Did you see Washington is looking at Asante Samuel? Although I'd like to have him, they have a ton of starting CBs now. Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Macklin. I haven't heard to the contrary but I wonder if Springs injuries are still a concern?
harris was still under contract, we just cut him. i think his base salary was something like 2 million, his play just didnt warrant it. in his 2 years in washington, he got a combined 3 interceptions. plus he'll be 33 at the start of the season. he didnt work out in williams' system.Quote:
