nice find dude
Thanks, that's really cool! It would have been so cool to see Pink Floyd live, but I guess now I'll have to put up with the Australian Pink Floyd and other tribute bands when they come here..
fun!
wow *claps*
niceee
really, you cant really call yourself a stoner if you dont like Pink Floyd..its the law
haha. i saw roger waters doing darkside in september, and im going to see him again probably next month. floyd is the shit. their older stuff is waaaay better (atom heart mother, meddle)
What's amazing is that this was already "the law" back when I started smoking in the early '80's.Quote:

How did Waters handle the fact that most of the vocals on the original Dark Side were done by Gilmour? When I saw Waters back in 99 or 2K he did Dogs and someone else sang Gilmour's part. That was just 1/2 of one song though. I've been wondering how he handled Dark Side.Quote:

It's all about Animals, baby.. :D
Yeah man I know what you mean I love Piper. All Pink Floyd is awesome def. one of my top 3 favorite bands along with Hendrix and Led Zep.Quote:

On a Making Of DSotM DVD I have, it gives some interviews with Roger, David, Rick and Nick, and even though it's from the 90s, Roger has a horribly faint voice. David's still comes strong. I'd much rather go see one of David's shows than Roger's, though.
Great find! My favorite song from SfoS is probably Lucifer Sam, Chapter 24, or Astronomy Domine.
Lucifer Sam and Astronomy Domine are on Piper at the Gates...Quote:

This might be blasphemy, but I can't stand Waters.. Yeah, occasionally he has good melodies and he might be a good song writer, but he's a second rate Bass player and a third-rate performer. When he performs his own stuff he sounds stupid and when he performs Pink Floyd stuff it's even worse, and he actually changes the melodies of some of Floyd's most well-known songs!! Give me Gilmour any day! :D
^^Yeah..BUT
I step back and appreciate Roger Waters as a musician.
Im pretty sure he wrote most of the WALL...if not all of it
AND...you have to BE a musician to be able to even play with that band...
You cant just know how to play an instrument....you've got to know how to read music, know rythyms....and for the 17 minute songs of pink floyd....it takes a lot of practice
Yeah I understand that, and I don't know where that anti-Waters rant came from; I mean, that's not even what the thread's about.. lol My bad, my bad :) Thanks for posting that vid!
Great find. More is a an amazing album.
I got a Vid of Pink Floyd doing Echoes In the Colisum in Rome in 1971on my HD,Great Stuff,If anyone wants a copy let me know.
If it's the whole song then I'd love to get hold of it.. The beginning of my Live In Pompeii DVD starts with Floyd playing Echoes but if I remember correctly it's not the whole song, which pissed me off 'cause it was so awesome.. lolQuote:

Anyone ever see the Echoes synced with the last scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey? Even if a lot of stuff doesn't match up, it still sounds wonderful...
I think Waters' strongest point was his song writing skill. Especially his ability to make a seemingly continuous, concept type, album. From Dark Side on, Floyd albums were more like symphonies than just collections of random songs. The same with Waters' post Floyd stuff. Contrast that to the post Waters Floyd stuff, Division Bell, etc, which try as they might, still turned out as just a collection of songs. I still like the music but I'm much less likely to put on the disc and listen all the way through like I would with something like Wish You Were Here.Quote:

It would be interesting to hear a comparison from somebody who saw both Waters and Glimour on their last tours.
i wish they would get along more often and play together. but niot like that lame ass live-aid orwhatever the fuck it was in GB a few years back when they hugged. and BTW, Atom Heart Mother is the best (non-beatles) album of all times. and it just so happenes if you play the new beatles album, LOVE, (which is a DVD audio disc) and start Atom Heart Mother, in the last 10 seconds or so, there is a seamless blend from one album to another... i accidently did this when i was completely spun on LSD and it blew my mind. also BTW that beatles LOVE album will blow your mind without drugs... even if you don't like the beatles, you will like them after you listen to this. kinda random speech, but listen to good music you punks!
oh btw. some of those tracks i believe appeared on More and Obscured by Clouds, two virtually unknown pink floyd albums released between 69 and 72. Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, and Meddle were inbetween. So was Relics. There wewre probaly rehearsing for a concert from the sound of it Great find! the second song is "green is the colour" which is on the More album.. then it went silent...
oh i am retarded. i just looked at the side and it says all that. apparently relics was involved too. and it was for a concert. sweet i was mostly right!
More and Obscured By Clouds are two great albums. They were both done as soundtracks to some artsy type Euro films. I'm probably the minority with this but I find I listen to the two of them a lot more than I do The Wall. The song "The Main Theme" from More is this really trippy/ funky groove that's a must when you're realy baked.Quote:
