if you were to write a letter to the government on the issue of either legalization of cannabis, medicinal use , or industrial hemp which are all important but its too much to debate them all at once...where would you write it to?.....the house of reps?
the president himself, or the dea
its a far shot i dont think much will come out of it if i actually write a letter, but if i do at least i know i stood up for what i know is right
yeah but the thing is if i wrote it to the president it would be in the trash before bush himself even saw it..and even if he did hes trash it...and the dea would probably burn it
if any of those issues have a chance right now in our government, its going to have to get alot of support in the government before the president or dea has a say in it.....btw, who controls the dea? isnt there somebody that has power over them
id send it to a newspaper for the editorial section or something, raise awareness in the public before you go trying to change laws

I am also interested in this. I have won every debate I have had in school over the legalization/decriminalization of cannabis. Every year in social studies or in English, I bring up cannabis when the debating starts (mock U.N. meetings, debates over controversial books). Cannabis is a hot issue where I live because about half of our school smokes, 25% are ok with others smoking, and another 25% are against it (according to a school survey from last year).
I have written a paper on it for health class, and I debate it with my stepmom ALOT. I have been wanting to write a letter to our congressman for a while now but I haven't gotten around to it. I'll post it here when I do write it.
I recently sent an email to my senators. One didn't bother responding and the other replied with a form letter addressing a totally differnt issue.
They do good work in Washington, huh?

It's not too hard, when the person in charge of the "felons list"(convicted felons are barred from voting for life in southern states) is also miraculously in charge of the Bush-Cheney campaign in the state that just happens to have the candidate's brother for a governor.
