I thought it was, but I just see skeptics pitifully trying to discourage the spiritual people. It just annoys me because Spirituality exists, its a fact if you dont think that than you never looked into it, stick to the lounge if your just here to judge.
if your spirituality is so fragile maybe you should keep it offline... There tends to be quite a bit of information on the internet, if one knows where to look for it... Sometimes you might even stumble across it by accident.

I have a very developed spirituality actually. Except it takes over where reason stops. Rather than attempting to dictate the world to me, it simply ties up all the loose ends.
Skepticism doesn't threaten any of beliefs. Just the opposite, it keeps me honest so I don't fall in love with the bullshit I tell myself every once in while.
Science and spirituality are converging paths to knowledge. Don't become so enamoured with one perspective that you lose all sense of depth.
even the most enlightened among us need a reality check from time to time and discussing various aspects of religion and spirituality can keep you grounded in the real world. people sometimes get a little too wrapped up in their chosen form of spiritual education and a healthy dose of opposing opinion helps to remind us all that no one has all the answers. i don't come onto this forum to convert others to my beliefs, but to inject the note of skepticism that keeps the enlightened from becoming zealots.Quote:

I think spirituality means different things to different people, too. We all have differing experiences, and none are really any more enlightnend than the next. We experience only fragments of the whole until the pure comes, and only then can we hope to see through the glass clearly, Imo.

well put :thumbsup: Everyone is on thier own path in which spirit will give them the tests that are for them and only them that are for thier highest good. It is just sad that most look at the test, make an airplane and throw it out the window.

all matter has mind, consciousness, awareness, thoughts, and ideas.
the difference between us and most other life, is our freedom to act, and the extent of that freedom.
we are analytical to the point of dissecting life and observing each component, whereas rocks are not, rocks are analytical in that they record everything in and around them with their bodies.
we cannot say one way or the other weather or not all is mind, however it is my distinct belief and i hold true to it, that nothing can exist if it is without thought to either observe it's existence, or to maintain said existence.
a rock could not exist if the mind of a rock did not hold the rock's body together.
physics is the mindset of "lifeless" "objects" and elements.
but again, the reality check, we cannot observe this theory with science.

There was an experiment in which cats were used, as soon as 2 diff cats were born 1 was put into one room the other into another room. One room was horizontally based, everything was horizontal and given to them horizontally, that was thier whole world. The other room was vertically based. When they removed the cats from the room the cat in the horizontal room would run into table legs, and only see things that were horizontal. Same with the vertical one, it was blind to horizontal things.
This is much like spirituality, we have existed in a place where it doesnt exist and that fact was embedded into our mind mostly through the destructive behavior of ego, and therefore are blind to spiritual things. Let me ask you this, the oldest memories you can think of when you were as young as you remember, were they not memories of your ego being fed and developing?
They are memories of my parents hitting each other and me being abused. Also memories of me trying to kill myself. I don't really see these as my ego being fed....Although maybe you are right, one of them is my birthday. Spirituality is a beautiful thing. I am still finding myself and don't have a diffinitive spiritual view. I just dislike how you are trying to shove your beliefs down our throats.
I've found you have to be tough on people and usually confuse the shit out of them, much like black culture.

nah, they can go either way, science or spirituality.
they both have a chance to refuill the ego, believe me, i know.
it's all a matter of self consciousness, as well as open awareness of others.
know that you know nothing, and your ego will not be as prominent.
however, without the ego, you would not eat, nor feel pain. and soon enough die.
