you're gonna have to be more specific lol... there's lots of ways it could freeze... freeze but still has sounds (video) freezes, and has sounds but sounds like a horribly scratched cd playing the same second over and over (video) try to play a video and it freezes the entire comp... ect..
Check to be sure that your video card has the most current drivers available and that it is configured properly.
newest drivers isn't always the best with video cards... i can't stress that enough...
doesn't sound like a driver problem anyways...
When i try to play a "video" with like...realplayer, or WindowsMedia. the screen goes white and everything freezes up.
sounds to me like something a bit more than f-disk has been done...first thing I would suggest to you would be system restore to before your computer was doing this. It will change certain system settings, etc that have been recently modified. May not work, but I would give it a shot :thumbsup:Quote:

wait til skink gets on he's usually the one to answer the comp questions...
is your system custom built or is it like a hp, compaq, dell.. ect..
most brand name computers have a system restore function, but alot of custom built machines don't.
and wait, so this dude for all practical purposes fucked up your computer?
Huh?....mine is custom built. and the computer got a bunch of viruses and spyware and the comp. went haywire. so i gave it to my dads friend to fix and he did. but the problem is that the comp. wont play videos in realplayer,WMP, etc.Quote:

and if it's custom built, it's pretty likely it doesn't have system restore so i wouldn't even worry about it... well it might ifyou have xp but i'm not entirely positive.
what OS are you on btw?
