Yes a 2700K light should have a orange tint to it, From all the bulbs I have seen. But perhaps a Specific grow light might not.
2700K (kelvins) refers to the Light warmth So it shoudl be warm looking you klnow...
My guess is the box was misslabeled or somthing to that effect,.

i dunno it says on the two bulbs that they are 2700k, i also got 2 t12s that are 3000k and they arnt that orange there the kitchen and bath ones, i night go back to the store i bought them from and ask why they arnt orange,
mine don't look orange really.......just like a normal light bulb. More yellow than red really. I doubt they are mislabled...you may seem a little off if you go to the store and make such a complaint. I'm sure they are fine.... Bree

nope..i thought your noobness deserved a break from the pontiff, but if you insist i will enlighten you. going to the store and asking a clerk about the kelvin temp of a bulb used for house lighting is stupid, for one the dumb ass clerk will not know what your talking about...kelvins what? here is a red party light . do you want fries with that? reason two you will attract unnecessary attention to yourself...think about it man.
Please stop growing, I would bet my paycheck against your allowance that when you need nutrients you will ask the nursery employee some question like when do i put my plants on a 12/12 cycle to get fruit off of them...they will laugh and know you are growing. growing pot is not for everyone!
Tell me why that question would raise a red flag with the greenhouse clerk and i will help you.
