What is truth, anyway?

What is it? Are we [mankind] striving to know something we cannot know? Is it [truth] reality on individual basis, or is there a truth beyond our understanding?

What are we looking for? Why do we seek it? What's the point? In the end we we die, and our bodies degrade into dirt. We are worm food, but what about our spirits? That which makes us alive...does it go on, or does it too, evaporate into nothingness?

Does any of this even matter? :confused:

Fuck it, I'll live for today, and if tomorrow never comes I'll die knowing I actually lived when I could.

idk i think this alot when im baked by myself..its kinda hilarious actually, bc i usually liek sit back and i jsut realise how ironic our situation is, like we are the human race, we struggle to understand "life" pathetically, as we try to expand and eventually we will kill ourselves off..we are imbeciles

Yup it is individual truth, infact religion is actually a form of control over those in poverty among many things. Religion actually hinders mankinds progress. And... when you use the term 'we' who are you refering to, because I don't seek what you seek and I'm just one person here. Your really just stating your own ideology there in a kind of stoner rant.

We, I guess, wasn't meant for 'you', megaoctane. Some people are fine just the way hings are, and don't need to look elswhere for answers. I was referring to those who do. And yup, the post was a mini rant showing my own personal disdain for 'looking' for something we may never find. In fact, I'm quite happy living and loving, and accepting things the way they are.

In the end, I suppose everything we say reflects our own ideology, man. Even you. ;)

Also, I never mentioned religion, but rather asked why we try so hard to find a higher understanding. Spirituality is not religion, they are two different things, imo. Just as atheism is different from religion...

There are lots of people who do. I do it, but it drives me batty, man! Like, I'll sit and just think, knowing my thoughts aren't taking me to any truth. Still, I continue, and sometimes for days at a time. When I'm baked, I do it less, but think about really strange things instead. Like why are donuts made with holes?

Stupid shit like that... Then, some would say our tendencies to look for deeper meaning is stupid. I say not unless it does to you what it does to me. :D

You know what. I spent a good two years in high school thinking about god, thinking about the world, thinking about if there is anything after death.

Finally I accepted my own truth of the fact that we will never know. I'm seriously much happier now. I don't worry about there being a god because he isn't that important. I live each day for myself, my girlfriend, and the good of society. Fellow man is the only truth out there. People devote there whole lives to a god that may not exist while visious tribes are killing women and children in Africa.

I say let the living worry about their worldly problems and rather than worrying about the deads.
