About every 3 minutes I get a message saying "Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly"
And then it automatically restarts my computer.
What the fuck is an RPC and how do I fix it???

hahahahahahahaha!
That sucks, and I don't know what it is..:p
Sucks to be you.
No idea, just accept the fact all computers are the devil. I switched to Mac because I was sick and tired of dealing with PC's. Than yesterday, the battery decides it doesn't want to charge and it is only a few months old. They had a battery recall, but my isn't included. I'm pissed and waiting to call them when I cool down. But yeah, I have a laptob with no battery, so basically it is a portable fucking desktop.
Anyway, good luck with your issue. Oh and if you see bill gates or the CEO of apple, punch them in the mouth for me. :chainsaw:
I was going to suggest that, but since his PC only works for 3 minutes, then restarts, I didn't..Quote:

I hope this helps man.
here is some things you should do take my advice.
Because what you have is a virus, You should do A temporary fix that allows you to use your computer to download the patch is to:
Go to Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services->Remote Procedure Call (RPC)->Recovery Tab and choosing "Take No Action" for all three choices. Its a back door in windows xp. This will allow you to go down load the (fix) before your computer shuts off. Then go to symantec.com and get the blaster worm patch. Or call call hp help#1-800-474-6836.
Could be another issue.
Alternative:
Start->Run...type "services.msc" (no quotes) into the text box. The Services Window opens. Highlight the RPC entry (NOT the RPC Locator) and from the menu bar click Action/Properties... On the properties sheet click the Recovery tab. For First and Second Failures, set to "restart the service." For Subsequent Failures, set to "Restart the Machine." This way you know if the service has failed more than twice, indicating a problem. I also set the restart time to 3 minutes to give myself some time to play around a bit in case the system shuts down again. Hope this helps.
I ran the fix and it said no worm was found on my computer. But I downloaded the patch and installed it anyways.
So far, so good. We'll see how long I can stay on now.
Thanks man. You're the first person I'm giving rep to.
