Getting an apartment....
So I just got my first place...its a one bedroom condo [individualy owned apartments that are built a little nicer] and on the lease it says no smoking [meaning cigs]. The guy [landlord] went on to say "no smoking because it stains the walls and it stinks up the place." I was just wondering how marajuana smoke is compared to cig smoke. Does it stain the walls...if so does it stain as bad as cigs? Does it stay in fabrics [such as curtains and furniture] or even carpet as long or strong as cigs? Pretty much im wondering if i can smoke in this place safely without my landlord knowing? He wont be around alot...just dont wanting the place looking or smelling like smoke. I know that it will smell...but there is always sprays and such...which seem to hide pot smoke better than cig smoke [imo]. Alrite im pretty high right now and feel like im rambling so ill stop. please help me?

From my knowledge it does not stick to clothing, or fabrics. I can smoke a bowl in a car, get out, walk into my house and not smell of weed. Unless its on my breath.

yea, I wear what I like to cal my weed jacket when I smoke, and then when I need to go out or something I just take off the jacket and I dont smell at all anymore.

A simple spray of any deoderant would cover any weed smoke too :)

seriously would not worry about it... maybe cover up the smoke detector if you are paranoid, but yeah, pot smoke won't stick for more than a few hours, you should be totally fine.

weed doesn't affect shit when it comes to smell.
It only smells for a little while.. but then it goes away.
I came back from a weekend vacation and my roomie smoked cigs and I smelled cigs all day through the next day (even a little bit right now after half a week!)
used to smoke weed at my friends house everyday and everytime I came back it never reeked of weed.

chances are it will stain the walls if you're hotboxing, so i'd recommend that you either smoke near an open window, or use a product called spray-nine to clean your walls before you move out/when you notice that they're just not as white anymore...my mom always uses that shit in the bar here and it does a pretty good job. it says it'll kill the HIV virus in 30 seconds, so it should take off any smoke residue...and the smell, ya just spray something in there. and put a towel in front of the crack in the bottom of your door...it'll vent out into the halls and your fellow apartmates will smell it and rat you out.

I'm a landlord and I do allow smoking in my two apartments. If it's any help, your landlord, should and I repeat *should* give you notice if he is coming to inspect the property for any reason. Usually it's a 24 hr notice.
Just air the place out once in a while, and I like Febreeze, it works well on fabric and curtains. Just don't be spraying the plants :(
As far as walls, depends what's on them. Some paint is washable, and some wallpaper is too. I think if you just smoke near a window, you'll be ok.

If you have a balcony(sp?) thats where I would go smoke. But otherwise you should be fine. Rules are made to be broken right?
