So I was thinking about getting a new guitar but I cant decide which is good which isnt. I'm just sitting thinking and thinking not getting anywhere. :rolleyes:
I was looking at http://www.americanmusical.com and i thought http://www.americanmusical.com/item-...02_46_108.html looked nice.
Im also looking for a new acoustic one. http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-TAK-G340-NT.html
But I wanted some advice from you other guitar players out there. So what do you think?
get a takamine acoustic electric...they are expensive but some of the nicest guitars made....Ive got one myself

i would just get a package thing since ur a begineer. theres no point in spending alot of money on something that u might not like.

Youd need to give more information. If you are a beginner, Id buy a fender guitar and a line 6 amp because fenders are easy to play and line 6's make it easy to be creative so both tend to be inviting to new players. If you've been playing a while and want to upgrade, it all depends on what style you play but I think you can't go wrong with an epiphone. I'd also get a cheap tube practice amp if I were you. I play a Gibson hollowbody through a fender tube amp and have about 7 stomp boxes I use. I've also got a fender american strat, a Marshall practice amp, a Martin acoustic, and a nice Yamaha Keyboard.
I can't help you out much with acoustics as I play mainly electric. I have a Nova acoustic that I bought for $4 at a used shop. The neck was broekn but could easily be fixed. I fixed it up, and within 48hrs it was like brand new. Sounds amazing as well and soft. I'm guessing it's originally made for classical music and nylon strings, but I slapped some steel on there anyways.
It all depends on what kind of tone you're after. Single coil pickups create a less muddy, thinner, distorted sound. I find single coils amazing for clean tones and playing the blues, but if you're after something meaty, I suggest a humbucker of some sort.
Humbuckers in the bridge position commonly create a really thick clean tone, and a really muddy distortion. A Humbucker in the neck position I find creates a thinner sound, but very present at the same time.
I play Fender guitars through a classic Fender amp. I have a '67 Strat and an S-65. The Strat has the single coils, which sound amazing for playing the blues and clean tones. The S-65 has 2 S.D humbuckers in there and I use that guitar and chunky, meaty tones. I always use the neck position pickup as I find the bridge pickup has too much fuzziness behind it, and is not clear enough.
As for brands, that's up to you. I find when buying a guitar, it's best to buy in person so you can actually play it. Everyone has their own tastes in sound and the best way to find that is to test them out before you buy one.
If you're just a beginner though learning, then any brand will do, and pickup will do.

sorry i didnt know u werent a begginner. my first guitar was the fender squire strat package thing. then i got a custom made guitar with a les paul body style, and the action on it is amazing. one option u may consider is a Jackson guitar. they are made by fender now, but they are still good. my friend has a jackson and it plays good and sounds nice. my other friend has a ibanez he bought for 200$ (hes left handed so its hard to find a good cheap guitar) and the action on it is HORRIBLE, but it sounds nice. If u have a store that sells guitars go in there and try some out and find the one that u like best.
