socks: the fresher the better

Today I bought socks. A nice new package containing 6 pairs of white Hanes socks.
Can someone please tell me why they come in a ziplock bag?
Why would I need to reseal the socks left in the bag?
Is this a freshness issue? :confused:
Once the bag is opened, do they begin to react with air?
Is there something that I don't know about socks? All these years I have been keeping my socks in a drawer. Should I be keeping them in the fridge? If I don't need them right away, should I toss them in the deepfreeze? :p

hmm maybe if you were traveling and just bought the pack and used 1 per day.... but why wouldnt you just take them out of the bag and put them in your suitcase? this is bugging me a lot right now, i must know!

maybe it's you if your like traveling you can reseal them or something

How about someone asks Hanes why they put a resealable bag around their socks?
Do you think they will even answer that question?

Man its cuz theres socks gnomes man who get into your socks and build colonies and if you dont reseal the bag they will take over the world...

See, you buy socks, but they throw in a free ziplock bag.
