I have white plastic from grow store this Post makes me kinda want to change it. But I wonder If White plastic is better than white paint. But Mylar still seems to be the ultimate best.

The difference between mylar and flat white paint is very minor. And mylar is much harder to work with and keep flat against the walls. On the other hand, some surfaces (smooth laminates) aren't always easy to get white paint to adhere to, so I did use mylar in my big cabinet. When I can, I use flat white paint. When I can't, I use mylar.
Right now I have the white and Black plastic that you find at your grow shops. Plus painting would stink to much in my Apartment. After reading that post by, Can't rember name I was thinking of switching to Mylar. Because I am in such limited space and everything helps. But I guess if the difference isn't much? From mylar and White Grow shop p[lastic. Ill just stay with what I've got
thanks

i use aluminum foil tape from hope depot
you would probably be doing your plants a favor, to switch to white walls ... regular foil (IF that tape is similar to aluminum foil) ABSORBS light, not good at all for a reflective growing surface ... :smokin:Quote:

After that is flat white washable paint with fungicide.
Yay, fungicide. Boo, fungus.
Stinky is on the ball......... as usual.
I would say that the white plastic material is just as good a substitute for white paint. It really depends on your situation. Mylar is best, flat panel white or white plastic sheeting come a close second, the loss in lumens is neglegible.
But why no mirrors? They reflect 99% of light.
