Too Hot to Wear Pants
Today when I woke,
I could tell at first glance,
This summer day was too hot,
Too hot to wear pants.
Although she asked politely,
I ignored my mom's pleas.
How can I be expected to wear clothes,
When it's 90 degrees?
My cat looked surprised,
As he stared up from the floor.
But not as surprised as the salesman,
Who came to my door.
The paperboy was amused,
A smile overcame his frown,
I stood and read today's news,
Naked, from the waist down.
When the old man next door saw me,
He did a little dance,
Thankful that today is too hot,
Too hot to wear pants.
