Hi Tok
How much money do you have to put into a good light system???
A 400 Watt MH and HPS switchable ballast and a bulb each with shipping is about 300. Could you afford that?
Doc
Well actually, i was thinking today that if necessary, i may as well put in about 300, yep. The way i was thinking was 1+ oz. of GOOD BUDS would pay for itself. I saw a switchable one on ebay for $200. check it out at

tell me what u think
Also, what can i do about bugs? Ill look it up too, i JUST noticed them
nope the heat would be to great and the lumes are not enough
Stick with CFL if you are on a budget
SO are the switchable ones not good then? Itd be better to get a 250W+ MH light and a 250W+ HPS light for flower then? They dont carry stuff that strong around where i live, reluctant to order online if i can avoid it. What would you recommend? Around $300-400 budget perhaps
ebay, there is no safety problem just use a credit card or paypal and make sure the feedback is good for the seller.
You can get 400w air cooled for that price with a blower for the light too.
It's not illegal to buy lights.
Well, a 400W HPS system is available on ebay for like $99. It comes with a batwing reflector. An air cooled hood needs to be bought seperately if you need one.
In my experience, a switchable ballast is damn nice, but you can get great results with a 400W HPS.
I get .36g/W using hydro under a 400W HPS, netting 5+ ounces/harvest and I am a total fuck up. Not bad for the wattage.
But, if you can afford a switchable ballast and the 2 bulbs, by all means go for it.
Good luck!
i used to get 12 oz from my 400hps scrog, so you can definetely get a decent yeild from it with a little tlc.
is that by any chance 400W HPS for veg & flwr?
