Coughing?

I'm pretty new to smoking cannabis, I started in January, and have smoked every chance I've got.

My boyfriend bought some kynd bud yesterday (the hippie that he is, ha) and we smoked that. I could not for the life of me stop coughing, every time I take a hit, I'd cough so deeply. It feels horrible because I can't even hold in my hit. :( *miffed* Can anyone tell me how I can control coughing and take better hits? I'm much better than I was before, but this coughing is gonna kill me, hahaha.

Oh yeah, we smoke out of a bead, because all of his other bongs and pipes had to be thrown out before moving here. :( Horrible pity. :(, so I don't know if thats gonna help you all out helping me out. :)

well assuming that the bead is small, theres absolutly no room for the smoke to cool down, so its pretty much like inhaling fire..

all i can say is, take smaller hits, and save up for a bubbler

im 13, and i make them :)

just take a 2 liter bottle, make a whole 3/4th of the way down, get some silicone sealant, put some sort of stem in there (i used a turkey baster) and then make a bowl (a socket works here, or go to a hardware store) and seal the bowl on the end of the turkey baster (take the little eyedropper part off first) then, stick the stem (baster) in the hole, seal it, and make another hole 3/4ths of the way up (carb). then put water in (to where the bottom part of the baster is under water, but its below the bottom hole) light your bud, cover the carb, inhale til like your almost full, and uncover the carb. if you want really nice hits, use hot water. it moisturizes the hit, and makes it easier to hold.
also, you can (if you can figure out how to fit it in) put ice in there, and that makes the bubbles break up (more surface area= better filtration (the water takes out alot of carcinogens) and cooler smoke).

Or use my method.
okay, take a sip of water, and cup your hands around your mouth. then put the opening of whatever it is you are smoking inside your cupped hands, lean your head forward (not swallowing the water) and breath in. it will bubble in your mouth, right? Voila! Instant Bong!

Anyone think it might be the weed? Some weed is just harsher than others. This, plus your method of taking in the smoke, probably makes for your coughing fit.

he is just new to it. first time i smoked it (at 12) i used a bong. i always filter through water, whether its in a bong or in my mouth. you wont believe the difference it makes. :D

I train myself not to cough, I just hold myself. Have some water around or build up some saliva.
