I don't know if this is the best way, but it's the way I'll do it:
Sealed container. No light leaks. No air circulation (dry buds to start). No heat.
??? Hope this helps... hope I'm right.
If you go to Walmart or Target you can find these vacuum packagers. For these packagers they are now selling jars which are specifically made for these packagers (jars cost like $12.00). As long as your produce is well dried as Turtle says, it will stay fresh and maintain it's scent for quite a while. For longer periods refridgerate these containers - but beware if not totally dry you can still get mold even while vacuum sealed.

I like to keep it on the dry side so no mould . A few days before I want to smoke it I put a few carrot slices in a baggy with it and watch it close. When you slice the carrot dry the slices with a paper towel so they are not wet. Some use apple and other fruit but carrots will leave no taste. It just depends on how much smoke and how much carrots. I also heard some fresh leaves put in with it will help.
Freezer. Lasts for years. Air tight of course.
I usually put them in some ker jars and vacum them and put them in my freezer and seems to work well. I just love to open the jar with that his sound of freshness and the sweet smell of some good dank.
I can imagine you going to your kitchen in the morning... just like the Folger's commercial...Quote:
