i'm gonna be smoking with my friend who's never smoked before
i told him he probably wouldn't get high this time and he asked me why
that made me realize i don't actually know
does anyone know the scientific reason most folks dont get stoned the first time they smoke?
its because they are scared and dont know wat to think their first time. they will get high if they inhale it and hold it in. also the new user lungs arent ready for it making them cough

i've been told my whole smoking career that almost no one gets high their first time, no matter how much they smoke
i always figured it was more physical then mental
now THAT made no sense... :s
anyways, I think the reason people say that is because most first timers don't understand what you mean when you tell them to inhale.
and yeah, I did get high my first time. I think it was because I knew to enhale
i knew how to inhale and didn't get high the first time. it took me 6 times to get high.but now i get stoned off the tiniest amount of weed.
If they smoke cigs then they should be able to enhale properly. My first few times I didnt get stoned, I'm pretty sure it's to do with how they inhale. Instead of inhaling they just hold it in their mouth, if they havnt inhaled obviously theyre not gonna get stoned. Make sure you tell them to "breathe it in" like they would with air.
