young, jacob peterson died today after choking on a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. the boy was eighteen. son to, peter peterson and martha peterson, he left behind brother, joshua peterson and younger sister, kathleen peterson. the boy's family reported that he had been smoking marijuana that night and apparently was in a rush to finish the "ooey-gooey sandwich". the cannabinoid, delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, the principal pyschoactive ingredient in weed (aka cannabis) acts like neurotransmitters and are produced as part of the built-in apparatus by which peripheral parts of the body inform the brain that it's lunchtime. endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors are abundant in the hypothalamus, the region of the brain that plays a pivotal role in appetite regulation.
