Like i knows if u go to a area where they speak differant and lived there your accent would eventually change, but how does coming from differant parts of a country give you a accent? And how did it all start....?

People that first populated those towns would have come from another country/place that used that accent and over the years it has just evolved and changed a little, like the words and things they used to use in Shakesperean times that we neglect in today's world:DQuote:

I think its probably because people are generally lazy and don't pronounce words as they're intended to be spoken, over time others pick up on these words and imitate how they're spoken.
Just like groups of friends tend to use the same sayings and if you hang around with certain people you tend to pick up similar facial expressions, people in general like to copy weither consciouslly or not.
We were talking about this in Cultural Anthropology the other day, and i know the answer, but im too lazy to look for it now. I would pick up an antropology book i you really wanted to know. or just browse the web.
I'm on it! .Kinda:pQuote:
