can someone please let me know if this is an indica plant? found it growing in my backyard

Looks to be indica dom but there is way too many factors involved to be 100% sure.

That doesn't look like cannabis to me.

How can i tell? The first post mentioned that it was indica but wasnt sure about the type.

Sorry talent, the confusion is my fault.

I just quickly glanced at the photo and saw short fat leaves and assumed indica but I was hasty and wrong.

I agree with tiki, I don't think it is even cannabis. I doesn't look like it's growing nodes in the same way cannabis would.

Can you provide a better picture? Or a picture taken from the side of the plant?

I don't believe that is cannabis either. It's one of those look-A-likes.

If it was cannabis I'd say mostly Indica... But that's not ganja.
