Does Space End?

Think about this... If you travel and travel trillions of light years away from Earth, do you think there is an end to Space? Does Space go in every direction for infinity, like up, down, left, right? It is so strange to actually think about this question. Also, if it does go forever, why hasn't there been any contact with anything other than us here on Earth? Or do we come in contact with things from beyond Earth everyday and we just don't know it. You know what is cool also, human beings have been on earth for millions of years, and just in the past hundred have we been to outer space. Pretty Crazy if you ask me...

Maybe if you go far enough out you end up back where you started.

Isnt the universe expanding..or shrinking????? Any astrophysicists here??

if one believes in the big bang then there must be a limit to our universe out there on the fringes and if i recall correctly, it was mapped or found a few years ago (the background "bang" of the big bang) ...or what some scientists think is the edge of the expansion. but if you are of the christian-judean background, you might think of it as a neverending or a universal universe. but then you would have to block any chance of there being alternative universes as there wouldn't be enough room left, being that this universe is universal...uni, latin for one and versal latin for...ummm...vessel...yeah, that's it vessel. uni-vessal...one ship. so there ya go...

my brain hurts now...but one more thought on this before i medicate...i just can not fathom the fact that we are on the one and only plane in the one and only one universe...let alone the 'fact' that eternity is decided upon solely by our belief's during this short life period we're currently experiencing...

When scientists speak of the universe expanding or retracting, they're talking about all it's matter, NOT space itself. I don't think there's an ending to space, a limit seems far more unlikely, I mean it's not like there's a wall there.

You mean like that game where you have control of a rocket spaceship and if you hover off the screen, you come directly opposite of where you came?

how can space end, and how can people not belive there is intelligent life on another planet

Something like that.... Space is infinite I think. Or perhaps does have a limit. What is at that limit. hmm I dont know..

Is there any evidence that the Big Bang was the only Bang? Maybe there were others but they are so far away that their light hasn't reached us yet.
