Any idea's here on why, timing isnt on my side

Well these are well over 3 weeks old. I have them in Organtic MG soil, which i started them all in peat cups before putting them in these 32oz cups.
My temps are 86 high and 68 degrees lows. The humidity is high 68 and low is at 48. I thought they were cold so i tried the blanket around them to try an cover the outside of the cups and try an keep them warmer. Dumb maybe but i need them to get up so im trying anything. Plus it keeps the light off the sides of the cups, as i know roots an light do not get along. Iv used some FF veg nutes at 1/4 strength to try an boost them. The lights are close enough i believe and im running 24/0 light schedule.

The only thing that i can think of is that the cups are so big, the roots haven't reached there destination to start above ground growth, or its just to damn cold. I thought maybe over water, but nope. Also, iv put slits in the cup around the sides for air to get to the roots.........no perlite tho, they drain well?

Also, they had stretched pretty bad before i put them in the bigger cups, but i just made sure i put them in deep and since then i haven't had any stretching. The lights are 109watts with 7,000 lumen according to the box and there right on top of them. And there are a set above my re vegged plants just like them, so enough light. Oh and all femed seeds too.

U might want to get them in bigger pots. when the roots bottom out it droops and start to turn yellow like that. and more light would be a plus. 5000 lumens per sq ft. i have 6 plants and they are in 1 gallon pots and i have about 20,000 lumens. u want ur leaves perky and green. and roots dont like light. that will probably fix ur problem

You want to leave them in those pots. They are fine there. Too big too soon and you will stunt the growth of the plant. You could have started them with less soil / smaller pots. It is hard to gauge the size of those things but I'm guessing you can leave them in those until they are at least 6 - 8". Otherwise the plant will focus all energy on growing roots below ground. Just be sure that those cups have holes in the bottom for drainage.

Check your Ph first. They look a little young for nutes at this point.

I would check the following:

• Type of water your using. Tap water/Soft Water, bottled water, distilled water, RO water?
• Are you PH the water
• Are you over watering? Let it almost dry out before you water it again
• No nutes at this early stage.
• Make sure you have proper drainage at the bottom of the cups, really good drainage

Hey LSY, when you say you didn't overwater, how do you know? How long have those cups taken to dry out?

I usually root seedlings in light warrior, no nutes in it, but tons of chunky perlite. The fact that you mentioned perlite suggests that you think something is amiss in your medium. You may want to let them dry out all the way, it's easy to rot roots on seedlings, and it'll show up all kinds of funky ways. If you are using a new medium, keep an extra cup full of it off to the side and water it too. Check it out with the others, but you can fingerF--- the one with no baby in it without worry.

Just my :twocents: for now. Keep us up to date and remember how hearty the plant is. Sometimes no action can be the best action for a minute:thumbsup:

next time...use 25% (small) perlite, added/mixed to the soil...with drain holes in the bottom....same for the next transplant.

The water should go in and drain out, immediately.

Were I you, I'd transplant into fresh medium with a little extra perlite and into a container made for plants. Doesn't look like you have adequate drainage in those cups, and it looks like you've kept the medium too wet for too long. Were that not the case, I'd recommend a good flush.
The cups are not clear, so stop worrying about the light hitting the roots.
Absolutely no additional nutrients until their 5th or 6th set of true leaves, since the MG Organic nutes will last a couple of months for you. But I'd still transplant into fresh medium without the additional Fox Farms nutrients, and I'd do it now.

Just looking at your medium, one of my first thoughts was overwatering.
Looks like you need better pots with better drainage.

Read as much and as often as you can. You seem to be missing the fundamentals, but there is hope if you continue to learn.

One last thing...Do yourself a favor, and quit trying to diagnose your own plant problems, until you know what the hell you're doing. Let someone with experience guide you. Killing your plants with good intentions is avoidable.

Likely a dumb question...but do you know your water ph?

I think it's the water make sure the ph is right...

I only water when the are completely dry and before this pic they were dry. They have been watered every 4th day.

Well i dont have any perlite in the soil. I have great drainage. When they are watered it runs through the cups and out the bottoms pretty quickly. I have holes in the bottom as well as a few slits in the sides of the cups. Just by picking them up an a slight squeeze, i can tell there dry. Thats a good idea to add an empty cup to use as a Gage for watering irydum:thumbsup:

Thanks irydum, i need all the advise i can get, as these were to go out in a couple weeks, but cant put them out like this for sure. And i know i need some perlite.

They were bone dry before the pic was taken and like i said, the water runs right through the cups and out the bottoms of the cups. Iv never used any ferts like this before thirty days, but i guess i thought it might help. Its only been 2 days since i added the fert, so i guess il flush first. Then re pot with perlite. But, drainage is good. Its good to know the light isn't getting through the cups, as i didn't think it would, but after issues, i just tried anything i thought might help.

I guess re pot is the answer, with perlite this time.

Rusty i read everyday, and thats no bull, everyday:thumbsup:I have never used these peat cups before, but i re potted the cup with 2 seedlings in it and roots were all the way to the bottom of the cup.

I am only going by my experience Rusty. No its not much compared to you and a lot of people on here and it was only meant as a suggestion, which i tried to rule out. But i understand, hell if i were ask id say they look over watered to me. But, iv make that mistake and im trying not to repeat the over water thing.

No question is dumb, its 7.1. I am slowly getting the tools i need, perlite is on the list. I went through the soil with my re veg project which is looking pretty good so far. But, iv used up the MG soil and all i have is cheap shit. I do have cash problems, but try to get the best materials when i can.

Also, thanks Rusty, i try an use what iv learned here, but this is something im just not understanding. I guess im one to try an use what iv learned before posting a pic with a question mark:wtf: I would think as an experienced grower, you would want me to try an figure out my issues before asking for help. And, this is my first ever problem starting any seeds? I had put them in these cups hoping i could cut half the cup off and plant with the cup around the plant to protect them from bugs, till they got bigger. So thats why there in them, just an idea?

Pic is over all project to go out i hope in a few weeks, after re pot:thumbsup:

Just took a pic and they seem a lot greener with new growth from yesterday, think i should maybe give them a few days after iv seen them better today?

Re-pot for sure. Get yoru PH down a bit. You're doing fine.
