Novice grower experiencing problems, possible deficiency.

Hey all!

I am completely new to growing. Purchased 5 feminized super silver haze seeds, germinated them in soil. Using a high pressure sodium lamp,

room temperature = 88 degrees fahrenheit (possibly too hot).

Soil pH = 6.5

Humidity = Low

Water them everyday with 200ml fertilizer solution with increased potassium. The fertilizer has a decent concentration of nitrogen as well.

Exposed to light 24 hours a day.

Fan is on all day as well.


I'm fairly lost to be honest. After doing a bit of research, I'm guessing it may be a nitrogen deficiency but I would like to get an experienced growers point of view.

I've uploaded a few pictures of them. As you can see the lower leaves on both of them have a yellow discoloration and leaf tips on both of them (one in particular) have gone a whitish gray color.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Let that shit dry out man, or there goes all your little babies. They need to dry out, let them dry out, then wait a day, then water.

I thought that since the room was very hot and dry, I needed to be watering a bit more.

Is 88 degrees too hot in your opinion?

You notice how the ends are white yeah?
Does this mean that those leaves are completely dead and will not repair themselves?

Not only are you over-watering, but you are wayyy over-feeding too. Your babies are still a lil young for nutes. The symptoms that are pointing you toward a deficiency are actually over-fertilization. It's pretty difficult to under-feed a baby.

In a week or two (depending on how badly you stunted your growth) you can start feeding a weak solution (25% or less) EVERY OTHER watering. watering usually takes place every 2-3 days, and in general you only need to feed once a week. once the plants double in size from when you start feeding, you can double the nute strength up to 50%.

For now, just plain water every 2-3 days!

Is it too late to undo/repair the damage done would you say?

Will this mistake have a dramatic effect on yield/plant height in the future?

Another thing: when you transplant (which you should in about a week) add perlite to your soil. I noticed you have none. this will help prevent over-watering, as well as detrimental problems such as mold and root rot.

So to re-cap:
-Water every 2-3 days with plain water
-In one week transplant, and continue with plain water for one week after.
-start feeding a weak (25%) solution about once a week, ON a scheduled watering day. don't feed in between waterings.

No, it shouldn't have any significant effect on yield or height. the only problem you may have is slow growth for the next few days, but once you correct your watering they will start to shoot up.

Definitely lay off the watering for a day and i'd get those things in bigger pots. No nutes till they are about 6-8" tall....even then be careful on the dosage. Always start small and then add as you go along. Some people will say wait till you have 5 nodes on the plant to add nutes.

But if you get some good soil w/ perlite (very important) and transplant those babies....lay off the watering (about every other day, just a smidgen) they will spring back to life.
