Nebraska Girl Turns in Mother for Allegedly Smoking Pot

WAVERLY, Neb. â?? A 15-year-old Waverly girl has turned in her mom for allegedly smoking marijuana in front of her.

The 32-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of child abuse and marijuana possession.

The daughter called the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, and authorities executed a search warrant of her mother's home on Wednesday.

The girl told authorities where they could find the woman's drug paraphernalia and marijuana. One gram of pot was found.

The woman has two other children living in the home.

A sad product of the DARE culture. Police officers teach children that by turning their parents in the are "helping" them with their "problem." They then find their families torn asunder and their world turned upside down as Mom or Dad possibly lose custody of their children.

I don't condone children smoking marijuana but ask yourself, does it endanger a child for a parent to have a beer after a hard days work?

This girl was 15 so I figure there are pretty good odds she knew what she was doing and what would happen to her mom when she called the cops.
Probably she had some beef with mommy over something, knows enough about how the world works to see an opportunity to fuck mom over, and was dumb and impulsive enough to not think about the big picture consequences.

I am so never having kids. :D

the only thing i learned from DARE was Drugs Are Really Expensive. so i started growing my own. :jointsmile:

Dang I was about to say the same thing. This is true that she's 15 and considering the fact that she was living with a parent who smoked it, she would have probably already grown up knowing that D.A.R.E is pretty much bull shit. Plus, there was mention of child abuse so this could have been a retaliatory strike but even if there was no child abuse, I'm still willing to bet this was a retaliation rather than a brainwashed child.

Damm, even kids are snitching on there mums these dayz..

I can't believe what I just read.

Our child is also 15, and since we've been HONEST with kidd-O about the difference between "plants" "prescriptions" and "drugs", has enough of a brain to see through the DARE bullshit.

Also: being that I do have some experience with teenagers, it does seem that there was more to that story that Mommy toking in front of the kid. The brat was probably pissed off at something entirely different, such as a curfew or chores, and decided to "get back" at her Mom in a way that she may have thought to be benign. I doubt the kid even knew how serious the legal and social ramifications were by her tattling.

The DARE program and most drug education programs in the schools are simply irresponsible. They lump weed in with crack and just call it all "drugs". Kids usually try weed first, if they experiment with anything at all, and when they figure out that you don't go crazy, you don't become violent, you don't become a murderous thieving fiend, well, they just assume that the teachers are either stupid or lying.
That leads them to try other things that truly are dangerous and they think they've got all the answers.

DARE is a ridiculous and terrifying concept.
It hurts more than it helps; to include the children, their parents, and the over crowded jails that our tax dollars are being spent upon.
