Rotating Stand for Growroom- and ensuing discussion of wheelchair access
Anyone know of any type of rotating stand or table type thing for possible use in the grow room, i googled everywhere and cant find/ are not using the correct words. I got the idea from my rotating Christmas tree.
Also has this ever been tried?

sounds cool
rip off the tree and throw some ply wood on it and set it under your light and add plants. there ye go.

go get a hub assymbly from a vehicle(part that holds the tire to the car, trucks have a heavier hub). hub ass has a great sealed bearing that can hold alot of weight. after you find a good one build you a base to hold everything

Is doing it by hand too stressful? I'm not a big fan of using watts unnecessarily.
Would rather spend the electricity on more light.
Is this for your ladies on the outside edge of the grow?
Would a light mover be more effecient?
Also, am sure I heard somewhere that dizzy plants go hermie. (kidding)

This works. I know patients in wheelchairs who can grow because of one of these.
We also use swivel chair bearings.
Unfortunately, it's still a custom item, but we're working on creating a commercial model that patients can buy.
I'll try to get a picture.

Well not trying to bash a bash, but, I am under the assumption that everyone in the forum is (to a degree) less lazy than normal pot smokers in the fact that i have read for COUNTLESS hours, and will have spent close to 1k$ for a fairly good grow room, and the up keep in itself is hard. So...to answer that, no by no means does it have to due with my degree of laziness, but i was thinking more on the lines of yield... because obviously if i had it set to rotate for 10 mins every 3 or 4 hrs, the electricity in itself would counteract the effort to bend over and turn them.
Like i said, i know where your coming from, but i think you mis read or underestimated the first post
@ the hub idea: what do you mean in comparison to where the caliper and rotor are? ive changed and delt with cars, but i dont know what you mean by hub ( in middle of rim possibly?)
thanks

Just get a light mover of the suncircle type. Voila. Problem solved.
Turning your plants daily is not necessary to a good grow. You might find yourself going in once every couple weeks and pulling stragglers out of dark corners, and putting tall plants in the corners for a stadium effect. But daily rotation is a lot of extra work.
You can also see if you can find the pics of Psycho4Bud's plants on their wheeled plant stands. lol! Like roller derby, bunch of girls on wheels, that you could sit and watch for HOURS.

ive never even seen light rotators... but ill def look into it, got a link off the top of your bookmarks? i was intending to try rotating plants for stem strenght increas, possible higher yields, ect, i duno if i wanna experiment, or do the safe bet way... but ill look into it

I don't have a link but google 'sun circle light mover'.
Strong stems can also be encouraged with air movement.
Squatness can be encouraged with plenty of strong MH light (blue spectrum).

No, as I stated, and I quote:"Is doing it by hand too stressful?"
Where the hell is the bash there?
Being on a very limited income myself, I was pointing out that rather than spend money on a lazy susan, I would rather spend my money on more light sources for the ladies, rather than turning the plants.
As I have chronic hep-c, and my wife is currently undergoing her second bout of chemo for T-Cell lynphoma, I am acutely aware of the medical problems associated with bending, stooping, lifting, and generally feeling like crap all the time, and was curious if perhaps this was among the reasons for the turntable.
As quite a few around here can attest, were I bashing you, you would certainly have no problems distinguishing the bash.
