Euphoria - Wrong. :)
Nutmeg will fuck you up. Not in an exciting way for most people though. If you like being knocked out for 3 days straight eat lots of nutmeg.
I've done several experiments with nutmeg. It DOES work; there are a few psychoactive chemicals in nutmeg and mace. However, the side effects far outweigh the high that it gives you. Most of the times I used it, I just ended up goin' to sleep. www.erowid.org has many experience reports, as well as the basic effects and dosage. Apparently some people even use extraction methods to turn the psychoactive ingredients in nutmeg into an oil. My opinion? I don't regret trying it out, yet I don't regret making the decision to stay away from it from now on. ;) Stick to weed.
I've experimented with nutmeg as well I causes illness. I have been able to extract a dark yellowl/whisky color oil with P.E. After the ground nut was soaked in P.E. for a few days the organic layer was washed three times with 70% isopropyl alcohol to give a yellow colored alcohol extract and a slightly darker organic layer. At this point the composition of the extracts are unknown.
