I'm having a you tube nostalgia night, I fucking miss the old pixies days, what a band they were - one of the greatest bands from more recent times.

not a 'fanatic' but the pixies were pretty damn good. Personally i think kim deal made the band and not black but thats just me. I think the breeders are alot better, you should check out Pod its a kickass album
I used to think that too, until I saw them on the reunion tour and then went to see FB on his own. Don't forget about Joey Santiago! He is currently touring with his wife playing some old pixies covers, and I'm going to see him in February again next year!
I love, love, love The Pixies!! "UMass" is one of my fav songs.

With new albums from The Breeders, Portishead and The Kills coming out, 2008 looks set to be a pretty good year for new music.
Theres so much to say about the pixies, and the legions of bands that we wouldn't have without their influence.

I forgot to mention the Breeders as well in the title of this thread, they are great too and they are also touring and releasing a new album this year.
