Humidity

So it's been gettin' a little chilly lately around my parts and I've had to resort to the heater to keep temps. in a good range. The problem is that my relative humidity has been showing a whole 0% for about the past week.

The leaves are like paper. I have been misting the room whenever possible, bumping the RH up to 15-20% for about 15-20 minutes.

How bad is this? Will the leaves recover when I get the humidity back up? Anybody else have experience with this kind of situation? The humidifier is on its way as I type.....

some bowls of water and an oscillating fan? Just a guess there....but I'd try anything if I were you. How about leaving some bowls of water around to absorb into the air?

I just poured some water into the plastic tub below the plants, filled it up about a 1/8 inch all the way around. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

take a spray bottle and act like a complete retard spraying it all straight upwards. do this until the floor is damp, wait 30 min, and repeat. eventually therll be a few litrs of water drifting about.

OK.

So after a little smokin' and thinking hard I realized something!

"Why am I pulling air through my Cooltube when I could turn the fan off, keep heat in the room, and keep the humidity in the closet?"

I turned the fan off not more than 5 minutes ago and the humidity has jumped up to 25% already. I was also constantly having a heater turn on to keep the room warm seeing as how it's a little cool where I live now. DUH! With the bulb just sitting in there the closet is a perfect 76°

Goddamn.....I'm disappointed in myself now. I'm smarter than that. :mad:

Lesson learned: When it gets cold outside, sometimes you don't need to cool your cooltube.

Excuse me Norkali....you turned off the fan tha cools your cooltube? What kind of light are you running?

GO TURN IT BACK ON RIGHT NOW. AND DON"T EVER DO THAT AGAIN.!! There are extremely specific instructions that you NEVER RUN THE LIGHT WITHOUT THE FAN.

I know you are going to ask me why.....and i'm not certain but I would imagine that the heat build up inside the tube itself could cause the pyrex to explode or something.

Just go turn it back on.

I didn't see this until just right now. :eek: Fan is also now running. DAMN. Ok, any cooltube experts here? Has this actually happened to anybody? (Not that I doubt that it could, can, and will happen...)

So now the next question....I have a Can Fan RS 6'', rheostat possible? safe? The environment was PERFECT and stable. Now my humidity and temps. are dropping. :(

Edit: Weedhound, It was like this all day today. Nothing happened. Ahhh....I'm running a 600w Sunmaster HPS.
