Plants won't stop flowering
I've re-vegged several times before, but I don't understand what's happening with my latest attempt. I have 2 NLxBB in dirt that I flowered and am now trying to get them to revert back to the vegetative state. It's been my experience that after about 2 weeks of 18/6 light, plants usually start showing new vegetative growth. Well it's been a little over 2 months now, and they look dormant, except they keep producing buds. How is this possible? Nearly all the fan leaves have died, but buds are coming on strong. There's a whole bunch of brand new white hairs today. I am using 3 CFL's as light, but they are 2700K. I know this is wrong for optimum veg growth, but that shouldn't matter. No matter what color the light is, they should revert back. What is going on?

Take em all the way to 24/0. I've had plants take a couple months to re-veg even under that. Hit them with a shot of superthrive at a couple drops per gallon of food. The other reason plants just keep on flowering is the AGE of the cut (the from-seed age) but in your case I highly doubt that plays into it. My OGKush 'abusive' throws significant pistils under 24h light- since I store males in the same closet, I get OGK x ??? crosses making fully healthy seeds on the regular. haha ask Chron, he's about to yank some nice seeds off his OGK!
But try 24h light and superthrive.

Cool, I will give that a try. How convenient. I have some extra PHd water with SuperThrive that I just got done mixing up for transplanting and seed starting. I just have not ever heard of plants taking this long. Nice to know I'm not alone.

I agree with Foxy, I generally don't experience problems when I switch from flowering to continuous light for a week or two. Also, many of the times that I've done this, I was transplanting and added a good bit of rooting hormone to the new soil. Sometimes I didn't even need the continuous light, but was able to switch back to 18/6 immediately and got new (and vigorous) growth after one week or less.
By the way, is SuperThrive still on the market? I remember being able to find it at Home Depot at one time, but can't seem to find it at any of the major retail chains anymore.

A plant that produces endless bud!? Sounds like you've found the golden ticket!

Good point!

I order SuperThrive online, or get it at the hydro store. I've not seen it at regular retail outlets.

ST is in all the garden sections in major stores around the Pacific Northwest here in the U.S. Not sure about other places. You can always get it online.

OK, I think one of them is going to make it, and has started some veg growth. It only took nearly 4 months to revert, with the last 1.5 mo. in 24 hr. lighting. The other one bought the big one about 2 weeks ago. It ate itself to death. I'm not sure why I'm so concerned that she pulls through. I've got 8 seedlings of that strain taking off nicely. Perhaps it's just a desire to see if it can happen. I've never heard of a plant taking so long to revert. Has anyone else? I'm used to seeing them revert in 2 weeks.

Wow...I never even thought of re-vegging the whole plant. I usually just cut it back to about 6 to 8 inches tall (with a few leaves left on it) After that, I flush the bloom nutes out of the soil, and add my usual veg ferts, then put her under 18/6 till ready to give up some juicy clones. Usually only takes a couple or few weeks to show the new veg growth.
Hope it works out ok for ya.
