See how the value of the US dollar has dropped compared to gold!
This graph shows the final closing value of the U.S. dollar for each calendar year. Value is measured in milligrams of gold. By this measure the U.S. dollar lost a very significant amount of value during the 1970s.

Eh, it's not like the dollar is even backed by gold anyway. Pieces of paper, numbers on a computer screen, it's just bullshit that's there to keep us all in line.

actually, the gold in our reserves is what backs the currency that we have printed...unfortunately, now, we don't have the gold to back the money that we're printing and sending overseas...how much sense that makes to do...
you don't really think we just print money onto paper anytime we need it and things are just dandy do you?? the gold that this country has in our gold reserves is the gold that represents the value of our american dollar..

They borrow from the World Banks. All USD $$ is on Loan. The US Borrows From China (and others) and then have no Real Export of Our Own. You can see where thats headed.
