my shrink wants me to give up weed

:rolleyes: ive smoked weed for 10 years with no problems (well maybe a little paronoia)but due to some shit in my life i had a bit of a breakdown and ended up pretty suicidel i dont feel like that now but my shrink tells me that weed is causing all pyciatric (cant spell ) problems and that it will affect the medication i take. I really dont want to give up smoking its a big part of my life and one of the only things i really enjoy. Anyone know if my shrink is right or should i see another shrink who doesnt seem to be against smoking weed.

Iv found weed to affect pills. Once I had 2 cold and flu tablets and some cones and was off my face. He might b worried of the negative side affects (eg u getvery wasted of which he'd think was negative being a shrink). I'd say smoke them anyway. This may not b very good advice but its an opinion from some1 who isnt all sane

Marijuana typically doesn't interfere with medication (even most psych meds).. However you might want to try your doc's advice to a point.. smoke a little less? See if it effects your sleep, mood, etc.. if it does, Mary may not be for you.. otherwise fuck your shrink and smoke somoe herb. My Girlfriend's a psych major.. she always tells me her professors say weed can't hurt you psychologically... so..

The psychiatrist said the same to me.
Did i give up ? hmmmm NO.
I do ok on it but when on medication i was affected bad like as soon as i hit a bong i would fall asleep if it was any later than afternoon but after a few mths i could handle it better and i never gave up the whole time i was on medication i was ok.

I was on something for people with parkinsons called zyprexa/olanzapine cause it sorted my brain out from psychosis.I think the ones that interfere with your brain and make you think and function differently are the type that will be effected by pot.

friend of mine takes zyprexa and a shitload of other pills. He is skitzo. Smokes everyday.
