Pregnancy and Urine Testing

Hi guys, wonder if you can give me some advice. I just recently found out I am pregnant, and I stopped smoking when I found out.

I am scheduled for a urine drug test as part of my pregnancy prenatals, but what if they find a small amount of thc in my urine, from before I gave up? I'm medium build and was only smoking a weakly rolled joint once a day, for about 10 months.

Are they cool about it if you have given up? Or will they be fascists and start threatening me? I'm on a visiting visa here from the UK, where they are less scary about pot than in the U.S.A, so I get a bit over paranoid about the laws here I guess... I just find it appalling that they might kick up a fuss about thc, and yet they don't test people for smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol, which are far more harmful to an unborn child!

Anyway hopefully I can pass this test and then I'll stay clean until I finish breastfeeding... keep your fingers crossed for me!

If they are giving you a drug test and you fail it, it is never a good thing. I don't know the particulars of your case but it doesn't sound like they will be too happy with you if you fail it. So why not pass it and that way you don't have to find out what they are going to do to you. When was the last time you smoked?

Yeah I would definitely sub.

You can't sub for a prenatal test. There are specific hormones in a pregnant women's urin and chemicals and ish. That would just be moronic and they're either think you're not pregnant or are subbing.

Hon, I'd dilute as much as possible as subbing isn't an option. But it also depends on when you last smoked, if it was around a month ago you should be fine..the longer the better. Keep us updated!

I'm glad to hear you have a sensible and responsible attitude to your unborn child, so many women are selfish and keep on tokin and drinking even though it's been proven to be harmful. How long since you last toked and your build and metabolism are all factors so unless I have that info it would be useless to even speculate.
On average three months is enough time for cannabis to be completely out of your system so if it's been longer than that you should be fine, if they do find traces it is (IMO) best to be honest and just tell them you were toking but you stopped for your unborn child, I think most medics would respect that more than if you tried to blag it.

her baby girl was born with Asthma, but thats all, maybe under birth weight Misty weighed, 5 lbs,

anything you injest goes to the baby

Can't offer much advice on the issue, but I'd just like to say that I applaud your dedication to your unborn child :) You've just earned my respect :thumbsup:

i don't think you have anything to worry about...my friend smoked the whole time she was pregnant and had THC in her urine everytime she went to the doctor. They told her the risks of low bith weight on the baby, but her's was in the 95% of weight. Even after she was born they tested her and told her since it was only MJ that she could still breast feed. They told her that the law only gets involved if it is other types of drugs, if it's only MJ they don't worry about it...

Ok, some advice for you.

Don't sub out someone elses urine for your own in this kind of situation. They are giving you a urine test for other reasons than screening drugs. They aren't out to get you. Besides that, the urine you sub out will not work unless it comes from a pregnant woman. Male urine is slightly different than female urine, and a woman that is pregnant will have urine slightly different than a nonpregnant woman.

Also, my mom smoked the entire time I was in her womb, and I turned out just fine. I'm a college student thats about to enter the real world. But, I definately stand up and applaud the fact that you are willing to completely clean your body up already to have this baby, great job.
