Lieberman: Bomb Iran If It Doesn't Stop

(CBS) The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government in Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday on Face The Nation.

"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. "And to me, that would include a strike into... over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers."

The Indepedent former Democrat from Connecticut said that he was not calling for an invasion of Iran, but he did say the U.S. should target specific training camps.

"I think you could probably do a lot of it from the air, but they can't believe that they have immunity for training and equipping people to come in and kill Americans," Lieberman said.

I remember that article a while back. Then the white house stopped talking about it one day like it never happened. I don't doubt Iran is guilty of something, its just after all the lies about Iraq how can anyone even believe these guys. I want to see EVIDENCE and not just be told "it is so"... That would sound like a truther preaching Alex Jones ontop a mountain.

Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that there's no proof to back up such a claim.

All I can say is that they'd better figure it out fast on where these are coming from and nip it in the bud! Half of our people injured/dead is because of these IEDs.......I don't think that there is a factory in Iraq putting out this type of highly technical device that is being used today against our people.

Man you are sure programed. The first thing I'd question is the validity of that turncoat Joe Lieberman, Democrat my ass. That guy is more repube than Judiani. Reports of Iranian hands on IEDs, questionable at best. And so what. If the Russians invaded Canada, don't you think we'd help out the Canadians, try to kill as many Russians as we could without actually using our troops. You must remember, we have not had diplomatic relations with Iran since Regan. If we did, Maybe we could just contact them and tell them to stop. Here's the real deal. The shiites in Iraq are well connected to Iran. Sadam kept the lid on all those crazy mullahs. We removed Sadam and opened Pandoras Box. Diplomacy is the only answer. An escalation of violence will only create more division and chaos. Grow up. This isn't schoolyard justice, my dick is bigger than your dick doesn't work in the international arena, especially when the opponent is ready and willing to die. If you want to see the "RE-VAL", you better hope for a diplomatic solution, Bombing Iran will surely sink the deal!
