Any age is fine, but minimum should be like 12, anyone should at least try the reefer once, expecially in ur teen yeers, where u and ur buddies can get together and have some bomb shit just toking and having fun. Hey what's the harm in that

I'd vote for the same level of control as alcohol, tobacco and gambling, because I don't like double standards.
Each of these cause at least as much harm as cannabis could conceivably cause; each is legal for adults, each is government regulated to stop shonky operators preying on the vulnerable and limiting the health and social impacts; and each is taxed, a portion of revenue going towards support services for people experiencing other difficulties because of their tobacco, alcohol or poker machine habit.
I can't see a valid reason to isolate cannabis.
Over 18 to purchase it independently, penalties for sales to minors and intoxicated drivers and some parental discretion with regard to introducing a late teen to weed in a safe manner. It's ok to share a drink with your teenager at home, you are modelling responsible drinking behaviour. But give your 17 year old a joint when they express curiosity and you'll be publicly humiliated as an 'unfit mother'.
It all seems a bit silly to me.
Legalized or non legalized i think 18's a resonable time to start, i think cannabis in pretty young people could possibly change the delvelopment in the mind and everyones trying everything too young these days anyway =/
Personally, i tried it first when i was 19. I feel it was my own choice, no pressure and i had the age and abit more knowledge on my side. Im now 20 and a happy daily smoker (helps with my depression).
I did however, once have the missfortune of seeing a 13 year old girl get stoned once, the result wasnt pretty and involved a laughing fit for 3 hours straight with alot of talk of random rubbish like cheese. She also attempted to make phonecalls to her parents (for the fun of it) who would have grounded her ass to the hill if had found out (dont blame them).
Dont get me wrong, randomness is funny, but this girl was completely in a different world and had no idea of her surroundings.
Not good for younger tokers im sure.
any age is fine if it is not exploited
it works well as a medicine for any age
im a very high anxiety person and my life before weed sucked, my house was spot less, and i worked like 15 hours a day because i was always worried about everything going the way it should i couldnt be in a relationship cause they stressed me out cause you can never 100% no another persons intentions, at 21 i started smokeing pot and to quote kat williams got some of that chemical called FUCK IT! in my system and im sooooo much happier now i couldnt even maintain a relationship before cause i was always stressed. my life is still going well, my house could be cleaner but i still live my life go to work, pay my bills, my on and off relationship of 3 years has stabilized and gone from something that caused anxiety to something i find stability in, and when i told my doctor who had put me on literally ever anti depression / anxiety med he looked me right in the eyes and said "GOOD if its working dont stop, this is where medical and law differs" weed isnt just for physical ailments, it treats more then they want people to believe.
I only chose none of the above as I believe the age should be "legal Age". That would be area specific because it varies.
Eighteen, same age as tobacco. When people are considered "adults".
I say 18 is a good age to legally posess and smoke.

the first time i smoked weed i was 11 i think that might of been to young but i do think that kids should be desensitized to it in a unbiased (to both sides of the argument) way but i think for most kids 13 is a good age
If I had a 13 year old kid smoking weed, his ass would be grass, and we wouldn't be talking marijuana!!! :lol5:Quote:

i think they should adminstrate a "maturity test" when someone becomes 16. Because I'm 19 and i feel like i am 28, and i look like i'm 22. The idea of the maturity test stems from the fact that i know people in their 30's that shouldn't smoke and i know people who are 16 that are mature enough to handle it.
I also think that alcohol should be handled the same way. Of course this would NEVER happen.
I think 18, you should at least try being sober before you turn to other things
