My Little Clever Girl

Here's just a quick flower day 35 update that I missed posting the other day because of other issues on the MB...

Three of my four girls used up their fans weeks earlier than my last grow. Near the bottom of the pots, I added the extra 70w MH and a 70w HPS (to go along with 400w HPS and 250w MH overhead), as well as weekly high nitrogen fish emulsion, so I'm pretty sure it's just the natural course these girls have taken. The buds are super healthy and starting to fatten up. They are twice as long as my previous grow, just not as fat, yet.

All are from a variety of bag seed.

One girl, though, is extremely compact and hasn't lost a single fan. She's a deep green and she never really developed many fan leaves or secondaries. She's basically developing into one big kola. Sort of interesting is that her newest set of leaves toward the top six inches are rounded and not jagged.

As to HD's mix, I went with blind trust, since I know he's a genius among growers. My girls were happy and had a growth spurt after three applications, but I really can't say definitively one way or another until after it's cured and burned, though the ingredients all make sense.

so you gonna let me know about the 14 and the mix.....during flower they say to get the P going and fish fert is mostly N.....either way they're yours and whats working is working.....but did you notice anything after adding hardon's mix?

Since I used the mix and bumped up the light time on all my girls, I don't have anything to compare it to---these girls have been different than my other grows from the start. I'm just going to have to wait to see the results. Again, there was a growth spurt at the bud sites after application AND no bad effects whatsoever. Every tip I've ever gotten from HD has been great, so I have no reason to doubt this mix. The spent fan leaves DO have a cool taste that is very different than the typical bitter, green taste that is normal. That's chewing them, not smoking them...

The fish emulsion is a weekly addition to my regular flowering nutes, which is 1-7-6 Schultz Cactus Juice that I use at half recommended strength.

The malady of those leaves is something else. It looks like it was crossed with one of my mothers potted plants :upsidedow . Interesting? But it looks like the new leaves coming out are a cross between the two leaves.

Looks normal for the yellowing. Late in flower you can't stop that from happening...nor do you really want to. You want to power those fans long enuff to max the length of those buds.

Now, those flower top leaves are some funky looking leaves. Shes reverted to veg state.

I dont see a lot of trichs and you should be seeing them develop about now.

I would cut the light back to 12. She didnt like the 14 / 10...err...i mean she likes it too much. youre getting a bit of a growth spurt...although I have done this without that result.

I would take the lights back down to 12 just eliminate that possibility right away. DOnt want to delay your harvest any longer than needed.:pimp:

Anyhow to answer the questions of the formula...

The only way you will ever know is to do side by sides and test the resulting tomato strength.

Yes this has been done. With an error margin of 3%, the formula and lighting can boost the flavonids of the tomatos by up to 10 -15% in comparitive ratios.

Over the course of a couple of bags, thats a lot of bites of a tomato.:dance:

The tomato will indeed be smoother, fresher and tastier.

But...where are those glistening sugar speckles is what I am wondering...:confused:

The concoction needs to have resin glands to do its trick...I cant see any.

You might have a mute there, eh?

You have sugar crystals on the others yet???

One final thought...

SHe may be going hermie on you.

Keep an eye out for fag signs...although you may never see them.

I can assure you none of my advice caused this...sometimes plant just turn queer on us.

The rest look nice and will fatten for you now.

Hey, HD, I set the timer back to 12/12. But that one girl has been odd through the entire grow; just one main stem and she never sent out any secondaries. I figured she was just a runt, but then she started to play connect the bud from just above the dirt to her top. She has only a few trichs showing at this point.

The other three girls have begun to get clusters of clear trichs...pretty much on schedule from the last grow. I'm at six weeks of flowering tomorrow and expect another five, or so. Here's a pic...
