Rap sucks

Wow. This thread's had even more flaming and bashing than I'd expected it to. While I don't agree that rap sucks, I do sympathize with the author's view. It's easy to feel like most of it is crap, and I definitely grind my teeth whenever I hear any of the stuff that makes it to the radio.

As for the flamers...
You know, doesn't it ever feel like hatespeech just -belongs- on a pot forum? I mean after all, everyone who smokes it gets all angry and tense, and feels emotions of disdain and exclusion for their fellow man...

man, why cant you accept all music and enjoy each individual music for its different qualities instead of being a hater. i love rap, i was raised on rap, but i dont like mainstream rap. same with any other mainstream music, its all prettied up and isnt real. i personally enjoy mozart and jimi hendrix and ICP and tupac and everything in between. dont hear the noise, LISTEN to dem boyz

Can't say I care much for rap. For some reason, I like singing more than talking or yelling, at least when it comes to music. But no one forces me to listen to rap...so I don't. Just an individual preference though; there is no 'right' or 'wrong' about music and styles and genres.

just to say, i agree with the veiws as mentioned above, but i feel like punching a hole in my dry-wall for the fact that no-one has mentioned dr.dre. he is an amazing lyricist that makes his own rhymes, beats, and rapps with the best of them (eminem, snoop dogg, ect.) if you smoke weed you NEED to listen to THIS ALBUM:

And by the way, this isn't just fake shit, this music can be compared to classical in some aspects, i mean the instrumentals in almost every song will blow your mind as well as the "mastermind-composed" lyrics, that relate to weed and life. listen to this and then TRY and tell me stoners shouldn't listen to rap, fuck...

there are some good lyricists in rap but there are many more bad. anyone who is black and has connections can do it. take a look at ninety percent of rappers out there. i mean they dont deserve a record deal and get one and people buy tons of their shit when the lyrics are totally shitty and there is nothing to it but a lot of bass. hell anyone who is white and has connections can do it take a look at lil wyte
