The shopping center and JC Penny are still there. The lunch counter gone in the 70s. Or they were the last time I was back there. And those microwaved sandwiches were tasty. :D

Funny the memories that stick with you.Quote:

They were big, chrome units and they had about three of them, if I remember correctly. Twice the size of today's mw.
Yeah, those damned bees! I guess I'll have to convert them to A's!!! I only get Bee's when I'm not payin' full attention or I'm trying to make a point of one kind or another!!! :lol5:

And can't forget the Rocky Road bars too.
My Aunt Katie decided to have a "microwave" dinner for the entire extended family to show off "her skills" with the microwave. I was just a sprout at the time, and once the meal was presented to me, I whispered to my Mom, "This looks like the Mighty Dog I fed to Rebecca before we left today."
My Mom laughed so hard and so strong that everyone had to know what was said to her. Needless to say, I got in the "bad book" of Aunt Katie after that day. HEY, I was just being honest. She sucked at microwave cooking and in not so many words, out of the mouths of babe, I told her so. Wish I could take it back now ... :(
